The West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS) is seeking applications for two posts: Principal and Medical Superintendent. The deadline for applications is September 20, 2024. Eligible candidates must not exceed 57 years of age as of September 2, 2024. Relaxations apply for SC/ST (5 years) and OBC (3 years) categories. Applications should be submitted online through the university's official website, and a non-refundable fee of Rs. 1000 for general candidates and Rs. 500 for SC/ST/OBC candidates is required.
The qualifications for the Principal and Medical Superintendent positions include a recognized postgraduate medical degree and at least ten years of teaching experience, with a minimum of five years as a Professor. The pay scale for these positions includes a Level 24 or Level 23 salary as per WBS(ROPA) Rules 2019, plus Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) and House Rent Allowance (HRA). Qualifications Details for WBUHS Recruitment 2024
Principal:
- Should possess recognized postgraduate medical degree from a recognized institution with a minimum of ten years teaching experience as Professor/Associate Professor in a Medical College/ Institution, out of which at least five years should be as Professor in the Department.
Medical Superintendent:
- Should possess a recognized postgraduate medical degree from a recognized Institution with a minimum of ten years teaching experience as Professor /Associate Professor in the relevant departments of the Hospital, out of which at least five years should be as Professor.
Age Limit for WBUHS Recruitment 2024
- Age as on 02.09.2024 should not be more than 57 years [with usual relaxation for scheduled caste/scheduled tribe (5 years) and other backward classes (3 years)].
Pay Scale for WBUHS Recruitment 2024
- Level 24 vide WBS(ROPA) Rules 2019 plus Non‐ Practicing Allowance @ 24% of the revised basic pay [subject to the maximum of Rs.24,000 and subject to the condition that the Basic pay plus NPA so computed, shall not exceed Rs. 2,01,000/‐] and House Rent Allowance @ 12% of the revised basic pay [subject to a maximum of Rs. 12,000/‐ per month].
- Level 23 vide WBS(ROPA) Rules 2019 plus Non‐ Practicing Allowance @ 24% of the revised basic pay [subject to the maximum of Rs.24,000 and subject to the condition that the Basic pay plus NPA so computed, shall not exceed Rs. 2,01,000/‐] and House Rent Allowance @ 12% of the revised basic pay [subject to a maximum of Rs. 12,000/‐ per month].
Application Fee for WBUHS Recruitment 2024
- Candidates are required to deposit a non-refundable fee of Rs. 1000 for General candidates and Rs. 500 for SC/ST/OBC candidates online.
General Conditions for WBUHS Recruitment 2024
- Separate applications should be filled up, if the candidate is applying for more than one post along with separate online payments for separate posts.
- The candidates have to carry the original certificates of educational & testimonials showing experience etc. on the day of Interview.
- Incomplete applications will be rejected without any intimation to the candidate.
- Employees of Government or Semi Government / Private Organizations should apply through proper channel.
- No objection certificate should be submitted from the Employer along with other documents. No TA/DA is permissible if called for interview.
- Mere submission of online application does not confer any right to the candidate for being called for Interview.
- The post is/are full time & private practice of any kind is prohibited. The nature of appointment is regular, confirmation of service will be made after satisfactory completion of one year of probationary period.

- The candidates have to mail the applications in the email id [email protected] within 20.09.2024 & within 5 PM.
- Applications which will be mailed beyond the last date, shall not be entertained.
- The candidates are required to fill up the application form, which will be available in the official website of the University “www.wbuhs.ac.in” and have to attach the scanned copies of all results, relevant documents & proof of online transaction of fee.
- Reservations of posts are as per rule of Government of West Bengal.
- Candidates, if selected, have to join in the said posts within one month from the date of issuance of letter of appointment, after verification of all original documents at the WBUHS.
- Three months’ notice needs to be served from either side before termination of service.
- The decision of the West Bengal University of Health Sciences shall be final.
- Any legal action will be dealt in the Jurisdiction of Kolkata.
- No claim of refund of the fee shall be entertained nor will it be held reserved for any other Interview.
