The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is hiring retired police officers or officials (up to the rank of Inspectors) from Central or State Police Organizations for Consultant positions. Applicants must have at least three years of experience in investigation, prosecution, or court duty related to criminal cases.
The pay scale for these consultant roles varies depending on whether the retiree is covered under the CCS (Pension) Rules or the National Pension System (NPS). For retirees under CCS (Pension) Rules, remuneration is calculated by deducting the basic pension from the pay drawn at retirement. For those under NPS, remuneration is 30% of the last basic pay minus the amount equivalent to that percentage.
Duties for these consultant positions include assisting law officers during court hearings, managing court processes, preparing witnesses, coordinating with Malkhana for timely production of documents, and ensuring collection of deposition copies and court orders. Qualifications Details for CBI Recruitment 2024
- Retired police officers / officials (upto the rank of Inspectors) of the Central Police Organisation / State Police.
- Min. 03 years' experience in investigation/ prosecution/ court duty during trial of criminal cases.
Pay Scale for CBI Recruitment 2024
- In case of Central / State Government retirees covered under the CCS (Pension) Rules.
- A fixed monthly amount shall be admissible arrived at by deducting the basic pension (without commutation, if any) from the pay drawn at the time of retirement.
- The amount of remuneration so fixed shall remain unchanged for the term of the Contract.
- There will be no annual increment / percentage increase during the contract period.
- While fixing remuneration in case of Central / State Government retirees covered under the National Pension System (NPS).
- An amount equivalent to 30% of the last basic pay as drawn at the time of retirement shall be deducted from the last basic pay and the resultant amount shall be fixed monthly amount as remuneration.
- No increment and dearness allowance shall be allowed during the term of the contract.
Nature of duties for CBI Recruitment 2024
- To assist the law officer(s) during Court hearings.
- To assist the law officer(s) in obtaining court processes and their timely delivery to branch.
- To assist the law officers and Investigating Officers (IO) to prepare the witnesses before their appearance in Court by providing them a copy of their statement to refresh their memory.
- To assist the law officers in identifying the crucial witnesses in a case and to follow up with the 10 / HIO for frequent liaison by IO / HIO with them so as to prevent them from being dissuaded to disclose facts to the court on account of inducement, threat or promise of allurements.
- To obtain from law officers) the list of the documents / material objects (MO) to be marked through the summoned witnesses and to co-ordinate with Malkhana in-charge to ensure their timely production in the Court at the time of hearing.
- To ensure timely collection of certified / uncertified copies of deposition of witnesses and all court orders.
