VSSC Recruitment 2024 Notification Out for 03 Research Scientist, Project Associate I, Check Eligibility at vssc.gov.in
Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) has announced vacancies for the positions of Research Scientist and Project Associate I. There are a total of 3 vacancies available, with an age limit ranging from 28 to 40 years. Qualification for VSSC Recruitment 2024
- Research Scientist: M.Sc. degree in Meteorology / Atmospheric Science with an aggregate minimum of 65% marks (average of all semesters) or CGPA/CPI grading of a minimum of 6.84 on a 10 scale or equivalent
- Project Associate-I: M.Sc degree in Physics / Atmospheric Science / Meteorology with an aggregate minimum of 65% marks (average of all semesters) or CGPA / CPI grading of a minimum of 6.84 on a 10 scale or equivalent.
Pay Scale for VSSC Recruitment 2024
- Research Scientist (Purely on Contract Basis for a period of 3 years): Level 10 (Rs.56,100/- plus allowances as applicable)
- Project Associate-I: Rs. 31,000/- + HRA per month (consolidated)
Age Limit for VSSC Recruitment 2024
Age Limit (as on 06.05.2024): 28 to 40 Years. Minimum age is 18 years for all posts as on 06.05.2024. Ex-Servicemen, Meritorious Sportspersons & Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PWBD) are eligible for age relaxation as per Government of India Orders.
Selection Procedure for VSSC Recruitment 2024
I. Research Scientist :
- a. All valid applicants will be called for written test. The written test Centre will be in Thiruvananthapuram only.
- b. Question paper pattern for written test
- Part ‘A’ (Objective type) – Area/Discipline Specific part - Consists of 80 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of 1 mark each (+1 and -1/3 pattern of marking) – 90 minutes duration.
- Part ‘B’ (Objective type) – Aptitude/ Ability Tests – Consists of maximum 15 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) totaling to 20 marks (No negative marks) – 30 minutes duration [Questions will be based on Numerical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, Diagrammatic Reasoning, Abstract Reasoning & Deductive Reasoning].
- c. Interview : Based on performance in the written test, candidates will be short-listed for interview in the ratio of 1:5.
- d. Qualifying Criteria : Written test - 50% each in Part ‘A’ & ‘B’ , Interview - 50 marks (Out of 100), Aggregate marks – 60%
- e. Weightage in Panel Generation - For generation of final panel, 50% weightage will be given to Written Test marks and 50% weightage to interview marks
- Candidates called for Written Test will have the option to answer the questions in Hindi also.
- Please note that the qualification prescribed above is the minimum requirement and the same does not automatically make the candidates eligible for written test.
II.Project Associate-I :
- Based on the online application, initial screening/written test will be conducted for shortlisting the candidates for interview.
- Candidates, if called for Written Test, will have the option to answer the questions in Hindi also. If written test is opted for preliminary screening, the written test score will not reflect in the final selection process.
- The final selection will be based on performance of candidates in the interview only.
- Please note that the qualification prescribed above is the minimum requirement and the same does not automatically make candidates eligible for written test/ interview.

- Applications will be received on-line only and all further communications will be made to the applicants through e-mail/VSSC website only.
- Therefore, the applicants are advised to check their e-mail and visit the VSSC website from time to time.

- The candidates registered under National Career Service (NCS) portal and fulfilling the eligibility conditions may visit ISRO website and follow the application procedure as stated.
