The Physics Department at the University of Calcutta is seeking applications for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position funded by CSIR for a project titled "Aggregation phenomena on complex networks with application to interdisciplinary problems," under the supervision of Principal Investigator Parongama Sen.
The position, lasting for three years until December 31, 2026, requires candidates with a Master's degree in Physics, along with NET (JRF/Lecturership) and/or GATE qualification. Preferred candidates will have expertise in Statistical Physics and proficiency in Fortran, C++, or Python, given the project's computational nature. Experience in numerical simulations is also desirable.
The age limit for applying is 28 years, extendable by 5 years for SC/ST/PWD and female applicants and by 3 years for OBC (Non-creamy layer) candidates. The selected candidate will receive a monthly remuneration of Rs. 37,000. Qualifications Details for University of Calcutta Recruitment 2024
- Master’s degree in Physics
- NET (JRF/Lecturership) and/or GATE qualification
- The JRF is expected to work in topics related to Statistical Physics and candidates with expertise in the subject will be preferred. The project will involve heavy computational work. Knowledge of Fortran/C++/Python is essential. Experience in conducting numerical simulations will be considered as added qualification.
Age Limit for University of Calcutta Recruitment 2024
The upper age limit for applying for the award of JRF shall be 28 years, which is relaxed up to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to Schedule Castes/Schedule Tribes/Divyangjan (PWD) and female applicants whereas 3 years in the case of OBCs (Non-creamy layer candidates).
