Tezpur University is conducting a Walk-in-Interview on 23.04.2024 at 10 a.m. for the selection of 03 temporary positions of Linguists for a MeitY sponsored research project titled "Speech Datasets and Models for Tibeto-Burman languages (SpeeD-TB)". The Principal Investigator is Dr. Amalesh Gope. Candidates must have an M.A. in Linguistics/Applied Linguistics/Computational Linguistics or allied subjects.
Desirable qualifications include experience in field data recording, IPA transcriptions, annotation of speech data, and computational modeling. Native speakers of Tibeto-Burman languages with a solid linguistics background are preferred. The fellowship offered is ₹45,000 per month consolidated, with the duration up to 21/01/2025 or until project completion. Applicants must be below 35 years of age on the interview date, with the possibility of age relaxation per Government of India rules.

Qualification for Tezpur University Recruitment 2024
- M.A. in Linguistics/ Applied Linguistics/ Computational Linguistics and Allied subjects.
- Candidates are expected to carry out tasks related to Field data recording, IPA transcriptions and annotation of (recorded) speech data, and generate computational modelling
- Native speakers of any of the TB languages with a solid linguistics background will be preferred
- Candidates with a prior knowledge of working on any of the TB languages are encouraged to apply
