State Health Society, Bihar is recruiting 4500 Community Health Officers (CHO) on a contractual basis under the National Health Mission. These officers will lead primary care provider teams at Health & Wellness Centers to implement public health programs and deliver comprehensive primary health care services.
The remuneration for each CHO is Rs. 40,000 per month, with Rs. 32,000 as fixed remuneration and Rs. 8,000 as performance-linked payment. Interested candidates can apply online before the deadline on April 30, 2024.

Qualification for SHS Bihar Recruitment 2024
- B.Sc. (Nursing) with successful completion of six months' integrated curriculum of Certificate in Community Health (CCH) from an Indian Nursing Council/ State Nursing Council recognized institute or university from academic year 2020 onwards
- OR Post Basic B.Sc. (Nursing) with successful completion of six months' Integrated curriculum of Certificate Course in Community Health (CCH) from an Indian Nursing Council/ State Nursing Council recognized institute or university from academic year 2020 onwards
Pay Scale for SHS Bihar Recruitment 2024
Each Community Health Officer (CHO) is entitled to a remuneration (honorarium) of Rs. 40,000/- per month. Of this Rs 32,000/- per month is admissible as fixed remuneration and remaining Rs.8,000/- per month is to be paid as Performance Linked Payment, calculated on basis of various decided health indices.
Age Limit for SHS Bihar Recruitment 2024
- Maximum Age Limit as on 01/01/2024:
- UR(M) & EWS(M) - 42 yrs
- UR(F) & EWS(F) - 45 yrs
- BC & EBC (M & F) - 45 yrs
- SC & ST (M & F) - 47 yrs
- Minimum Age should be 21 Years 10 years relaxation in age will be admissible to Persons with Benchmark Disability.
- A maximum of 05 years of age relaxation will be applicable to departmental candidates provided they fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria.
Application fees for SHS Bihar Recruitment 2024
Application fee in INR will be applicable as detailed below:

Fee will be accepted through online payment mode only. The candidates have to bear the payment gateway charges if applicable.
Selection Procedure for SHS Bihar Recruitment 2024
- The shortlisted candidates will have to produce permanent registration from Indian Nursing Council/ any State Nursing Council at the time of document verification.
- After final selection candidates should provide Permanent registration from Bihar Nurses Registration Council (BNRC), Patna within 90 days of joining as CHO.
- Mere possessing eligibility and/or getting shortlisted for the selection process will not entitle the candidate for selection under advertised post.
- Final selection will depend on merit & category wise vacancy available.
