Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a SERB-funded research project titled “Computational Search for Potential Two-Dimensional Bio-Materials as Sorbents for Removal of Urea in Wearable Artificial Kidney” at Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence (Deemed to be University), Delhi NCR.
Under the supervision of Prof. Priya Johari, the project aims to explore MXenes and carbon-based layered materials for their suitability as sorbents for urea removal in wearable artificial kidneys. The JRF will be responsible for investigating potential sorbents using density functional theory and molecular dynamics calculations, studying the effect of surface termination groups, conducting molecular dynamics simulations, and analyzing the impact of temperature on urea adsorption.
Candidates with a master’s degree in Physics, familiarity with quantum mechanics and computation techniques, and good communication skills are encouraged to apply. The fellowship for the position is Rs. 31,000/- per month plus HRA, and the application deadline is 15th April 2024.

Qualifications Details for Shiv Nadar University Recruitment 2024
- The candidate should have a master’s degree (with a minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent grade) in Physics from a UGC-recognized University or Institution.
- The candidate should have familiarity with basic concepts in quantum mechanics and condensed matter physics.
- Experience in computation techniques like density functional theory and classical molecular dynamics is essential.
- Candidates having some exposure to codes like VASP and LAMMPS and/or related codes will be preferred.
- Familiarity with Linux operating system is desirable.
- Good written and oral communication skills are necessary.
- Candidates with CSIR/UGC-NET/JEST/GATE are encouraged to apply.
Pay Scale for KMRC Recruitment 2024
- Initially, the contract duration is six months, extendable up to the project's total duration of three years.
- The fellowship, as per DST norms, amounts to Rs. 31,000/- per month plus HRA, with an application deadline of 15th April 2024.
