SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) has announced a new recruitment notification for 97 vacancies of Officer Grade A (Assistant Manager) positions. The vacancies are distributed among various streams such as General, Legal, Information Technology, Engineering (Electrical), Research, and Official Language.
Candidates must possess the required educational qualifications specified for each stream. The salary for Grade A officers ranges from ₹44,500 to ₹89,150, with additional benefits. Qualification for SEBI Recruitment 2024
General
- Master’s Degree/ Post Graduate Diploma (minimum two years’ duration) in any discipline/ Bachelor’s Degree in Law/ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a recognized University/ Institute or Chartered Accountant/ Chartered Financial Analyst/ Company Secretary/ Cost Accountant.
- (Equivalent to a Master’s Degree in that discipline as recognized by the Association of Indian Universities).
Legal
- Mandatory Educational Qualification - Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized University/ Institute.
- Desirable Experience - Two years post qualification experience as an Advocate (including as an associate in an Advocate’s or Solicitor’s Office or Law firm) after being enrolled under the Advocates Act, 1961 (25 of 1961)
Information Technology
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in any branch or Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a postgraduate qualification (minimum two years’ duration) in computer science/ computer application/ information technology from a recognized University / Institute.
Engineering (Electrical) :
- Mandatory Educational Qualification - Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University/ Institute.
- Desirable Experience -Working knowledge of electronic systems like CCTV surveillance systems, Addressable Security Alarm and Fire Alarm systems, EPABX, UPS system, etc.
- Experience in maintenance of lifts, pumps, air-conditioning plants, etc.
- Experience of administering construction projects in all its aspects and knowledge of PERT/CPM techniques.
Research
- Master’s Degree/ Post Graduate Diploma (minimum two years’ duration) in Economics/ Commerce/ Business Administration/ Econometrics/ Quantitative Economics/ Financial Economics / Mathematical Economics/ Business Economics/ Agricultural Economics/ Industrial Economics/ Business Analytics; OR
- Master’s Degree/ Post Graduate Diploma (minimum two years’ duration) in Finance/ Quantitative Finance/ Mathematical Finance/ Quantitative Techniques/ International Finance/ Business Finance/ International and Trade Finance/ Project and Infrastructure Finance/ Agri. Business Finance; OR
- Master's Degree/ Post Graduate Diploma (minimum two years’ duration) in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Statistics & Informatics/ Applied Statistics & Informatics/ Data Science/ Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning/ Big Data Analytics; OR
- Master's Degree in Mathematics and one year post graduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from a recognized University / Institute. *(Recognized equivalent to a Master’s Degree in that discipline by Association of Indian Universities).
Official Language
- Master’s Degree in Hindi/ Hindi Translation with English as a subject at the Bachelor’s Degree level; OR
- Master’s Degree in Sanskrit/ English/ Economics/ Commerce with Hindi as a subject at Bachelor’s Degree level; OR
- Master's Degree in both English and Hindi/ Hindi Translation from a recognized University / Institute
Salary for SEBI Recruitment 2024
- Pay Scale: Officers in Grade A receive a pay scale ranging from ₹44,500 to ₹89,150 over 17 years, with incremental steps and allowances.
- Gross Emolument: Presently, officers at the minimum of this scale receive approximately ₹1,49,500 per month without accommodation and ₹1,11,000 per month with accommodation, including various allowances such as SEBI’s Contribution towards National Pension Scheme (NPS), Grade Allowance, Special Allowance, Dearness Allowance, Family Allowance, Local Allowance, Learning Allowance, Special Grade Allowance, etc.
- Additional Benefits: Officers in Grade A also receive additional benefits such as Leave Fare Concession, Medical Expenses, Eye Refraction, Education Allowance, Financial Dailies, Book Grant, Briefcase, Conveyance Expenses, House Cleaning Allowance, Staff Furnishing Scheme, Scheme for Purchasing Computers, Subsidised Lunch Facility, and all other benefits admissible to an Officer in Grade A in SEBI.
Age Limit for SEBI Recruitment 2024
- A candidate must not have exceeded the age of 30 years as on March 31, 2024 i.e., candidate must have been born on or after April 01, 1994.
- Relaxation in age limits will be given as per applicable rules.

Selection Procedure for SEBI Recruitment 2024
- Selection will be carried out in three phases.
- Phase I will be an on-line examination consisting of two papers.
- Candidates shortlisted in Phase I will appear for Phase II, which will also be in the form of on-line examination(s) consisting of two papers.
- Candidates shortlisted in Phase II will be called for an Interview.
- SEBI reserves the right to modify the selection procedure, if deemed fit.

- Candidates who have appeared or will appear for their final examination, as on the last date of filling online application form and waiting for their results are eligible to appear for the selection process, however offer to join the Board will be subject to production of necessary documents evidencing successfully obtaining the requisite qualification.
