Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering & Research (SAMEER) is a premier RF & Microwave R&D Laboratory under the aegis of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. It has five Centres all over the country and undertakes state of the art design and development projects in advanced/next generation technologies and also providing electromagnetic compliances and consultancy services for the industry.
SAMEER provides the right environment for budding engineering and science graduates to gain hands-on experience with latest technology, instrumentation and softwares. It gives opportunity to meet and interact with eminent scientists and academia which is a great starting point to further ones professional and academic goals.
SAMEER is looking for suitable persons at Guwahati Centre for its various projects on consolidated pay. These are contractual appointments and shall not confer any right for regularization /absorption or continuation of service in SAMEER. Please Note: the number of positions is purely indicative which may decrease or increase depending on suitable candidates being selected and approved and as per project requirements.
Qualification for SAMEER Recruitment 2024
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Bachelor Degree in Technology (B.E. or B. Tech.) or Master's Degree in Engineering or Technology (M.E. or M. Tech.) in the field in Electronics/Telecommunications, Engineering with minimum 55%
- Master Degree in Science (M.Sc.) Physics from a recognized university OR B.Tech. (Engineering Physics) from IIT/NIT/Recognized Universities with minimum 55%marks
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Bachelor Degree in Technology (B.E. or B.Tech.) or Master’s Degree in Engineering or Technology (ME or M.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 55% Marks
- B.Sc. (Chemistry) from a recognized university with minimum of 55% marks. B.Sc. (Physics) from a recognized university with minimum of 55% marks
- Candidate should have passed ITI (Fitter) from govt. affiliated board of technical/vocational education and completed NCTVT with minimumof 55% marks
- Candidate should have passed ITI (Turner) from govt. affiliated board of technical/vocational education and completed NCTVT with minimum of 55% marks
Pay Scale for SAMEER Recruitment 2024
- Research Scientist: Rs. 30,000/- per month
- Project Assistant (A): Rs. 17,000/- per month
- Project Technician (B): Rs. 19,100/- per month (3yrs or more experience)
- Project Technician (C): Rs. 23,600/- per month (8yrs or more experience)
Age Limit for SAMEER Recruitment 2024
Upper Age Limit to apply/beeligible for post: 30 years for Research Scientist, 25 years for Project Assistants (A), 35 years for Project Technicians (B) and Project Technicians (C). Eligibility date for age will be closing date on receipt of application as on closing date of the advertisement. As this is a purely contract appointment, no age concession for reserved category, ex-servicemen or others will apply.
Selection Procedure for SAMEER Recruitment 2024
- Written/Screening tests may be conducted as per requirement for respective posts. Dates will be announced online at https://sameer.gov.in
- Reporting Time : Details will be announced online on SAMEER webpage
- Physical Venue / Online Mode: Details will be announced online on SAMEER webpage
- Selection will be made purely on merit and mere work experience of SAMEER will be no ground for preference.
- Candidates applying for RS posts who fulfil the prescribed qualifications may be required to appear for written test(s).
- Candidates applying for Project Assistant and Project Technician posts who fulfil the prescribed qualifications may be required to appear for written test and/or skill test
- Candidates shortlisted after the above tests shall require to appear for personal interview. Date, Time and Venue will be announced online or through email subsequently. Kindly follow our webpage link http://sameer.gov.in
- Final selection will be based on performance in the interview which will be held at the venue (unless instructed otherwise) as mentioned in the admit card.

- Applications for all POSTS will be accepted ONLINE only.
- All interested candidates must login to https://recruit.sameer.gov.in till midnight of the CLOSING DATE of the advertisement. Instructions along with deadline for filling the forms are available in the same link. Once candidates fills the online information, s/he can edit it as s/h wants.
- Finally, the candidate/applicant must CLICK “FINAL SUBMIT” on which a PDF file will be generated. Candidates are required to get a printout of the PDF file and bring it along with all the originals and one set of photo-copies of all the original documents when appearing for the written test and interview.
- Candidates will NOT be allowed to appear for the written test/interview without print-out of the online submitted form (PDF file) as indicated above
- Result of written examination will be announced and only those candidates who qualify will be called for interviews on the same date or on date scheduled which will be announced accordingly.
- Candidates should posses the prescribed experience in the one or more of the relevant fields as mentioned under the column “Experience” with documentary proof
- Crucial date for counting experience will be the closing date of applications. The relevant experience possessed before acquiring the essential qualifications will not be counted.
