RBI's recruitment for the position of part-time Pharmacist in Chennai for 2024. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time Pharmacist role on a contractual basis. Applicants must have at least a SSLC/Matriculation qualification and a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from a recognized university, along with registration under the Pharmacy Act, 1948.
Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of two years of experience as a pharmacist, particularly in PSBs/PSUs/Government organizations. Basic computer skills are also required. The position offers a fixed hourly remuneration of ₹400, with a maximum of five hours per day and up to ₹2000 per day.
The engagement will initially be for 240 days and may be renewed based on performance. Interested candidates must submit their applications by July 26, 2024, to the Regional Director, HR Management Department, RBI, Chennai. Shortlisted candidates will undergo an interview, followed by medical examination and document verification before final engagement.

Qualifications Details for RBI Recruitment 2024
- SSLC/Matriculation or its equivalent examination.
- Applicant should possess minimum qualification of Diploma in Pharmacy from recognized University registered under Pharmacy Act 1948.
- Applicant having Bachelors’ degree (B. Pharm) in Pharmacy can also apply for this post.
- Applicant should be registered with State Pharmacy Council.
- Minimum experience of two (02) years as a pharmacist. Experience with PSB’s/ PSU’s /Government organization will be given preference.
- Applicant should possess basic working knowledge of computer.
Pay Scale for RBI Recruitment 2024
- Pharmacist will be paid a fixed remuneration at the rate of ₹400/- per hour with a maximum period of five (05) hours per day, not exceeding maximum of ₹2000/- per day and will not be entitled to any pay, allowance or any other perks/facilities.
- The offer of engagement shall be for a maximum period of 240 days at a stretch and purely on contractual basis which may be renewed subject to satisfactory performance of the Pharmacist.
- The Bank reserves the right to allocate any dispensary, at its discretion, located within Chennai. The empanelled Pharmacists may be attached to any one or more dispensaries of the Bank, as per the requirement of the Bank. The decision of the Bank shall be final, and the Bank will not entertain any correspondence in this regard.
- The services rendered by the Pharmacist shall not confer on him/her any right for a temporary or permanent post in the Bank’s service.
Selection Process for RBI Recruitment 2024
- Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of overall educational qualifications (PG/Degree/Diploma), distance of residence from various Bank’s dispensaries, experience with PSBs/PSUs/Government organizations etc.
- The Bank will conduct an interview for the shortlisted candidates. The Bank reserves the right to raise the minimum eligibility standards etc. in order to limit the number of candidates to be called for the interview. The decision of the Bank in this regard shall be final. Mere fulfilling of the eligibility criteria does not entitle the candidates to be called for Interview.
- Candidates shortlisted after the interview shall be subjected to medical examination and document verification process before engagement as pharmacist on contractual basis. Please note that the cost of medical tests shall have to be borne by the applicants themselves. No TA/HA & any other allowances shall be paid for attending the interview.
