The Reserve Bank of India, New Delhi, is seeking applications for the engagement of one Medical Consultant (MC) on a contractual basis, with fixed hourly remuneration, reserved for Other Backward Classes (OBC). Candidates must hold an MBBS degree or equivalent from a recognized university, with at least two years of experience in medical practice.
Postgraduate degree holders in General Medicine are also eligible. The contract will be for three years with no renewal option. The remuneration is set at ₹1000 per hour for a total of 25 hours per week, with an additional ₹1000 per month for conveyance expenses. Applicants must reside within 10-15 kilometers of the RBI dispensary.
The Bank reserves the right to adjust remuneration and duty hours as necessary. Eligible candidates must submit their applications by May 10, 2024, in the prescribed format, accompanied by necessary documents including an OBC certificate issued after April 01, 2024, verifying non-creamy layer status. The engagement is provisional, subject to verification of caste certificates, and false claims will result in immediate termination. Eligibility Criteria for RBI Recruitment 2024
- The applicant should possess MBBS degree of any recognized University in the allopathic system of medicine;
- Applicants having post graduate degree in General Medicine can also apply for the post;
- The applicant should have a minimum of 02 (two) years of experience of practicing medicine in any hospital or clinic as Medical Practitioner;
- The applicant should have his/her own dispensary or place of residence within a radius of 10-15 Kms from the Bank’s dispensary;
- The contract for engagement will be for a period of three years. There will not be any renewal of engagement on completion of the contract.
Pay Scale for RBI Recruitment 2024
- The remuneration is fixed at Rs.1,000/- per hour for the entire 3 years of contract. The fixed remuneration is payable on a monthly basis. Further, no superannuation benefits, viz. Pension, Provident Fund or Gratuity will be payable. No leave would be admissible.
- No perquisites/facilities also would be made available. If required to attend to the Dispensary on any public holiday, compensation @ Rs.1,000/- per hour would be paid. Taxes on the income would be deducted at source as per extant rates and Government notifications.
- Out of total monthly remuneration so payable, a sum of ₹1,000/- per month may be treated as conveyance expense.
Selection Process for RBI Recruitment 2024
- The Reserve Bank of India, New Delhi, will be conducting an interview for filling up the posts of Medical Consultant (MC) on contract basis, with fixed hourly remuneration.
- The Bank reserves the right to raise the minimum eligibility standards etc. in order to limit the number of candidates to be called for interview. The decision of the Bank in this regard shall be final. The Bank will not entertain any correspondence with the applicants who have not been called for the interview.
- The shortlisted applicant/s after interview will be subjected to medical tests as per prescribed norms before engagement. The cost of these medical tests will have to be borne by the applicant/s themselves.
- Candidates selected for the post will be engaged subject to their being found medically fit, completion of verification of documents and acceptance of Terms and Conditions of Contract as per profoma
- The selected applicant would have to sign an agreement for Contract with the Bank before engagement of their services as Medical Consultant (on contract basis) with fixed hourly remuneration.
- Doctor selected as BMC must give a ‘self-declaration’ stating none of his/her current employer(s) have any objection to his/her engagement with the Bank.
- Doctor selected as BMC have to submit a ‘No Objection Certificate (NOC)’ from his/her employer, if he/she is engaged for more than 30 hours a week in any hospital/organization.

- Applications are invited from eligible candidates for preparing a panel to fill up One (01) vacancy (reserved for Other Backward Classes) of Medical Consultant (MC) on contractual basis, with fixed hourly remuneration for dispensary located at Main Office Building of Reserve Bank of India, New Delhi so as to reach the Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, Human Resource Management Department (Recruitment Section), 6, Sansad Marg, New Delhi - 110 001, on or before May 10, 2024.
- Interested and eligible candidates may make an application in the attached format. The application should be sent in a cover superscripted "Application for the post of Medical Consultant on Contractual Basis (with fixed hourly remuneration) for Reserve Bank of India Dispensary (Main Office Building)”.
- Eligible candidates shall have to produce a OBC certificate in the prescribed proforma ONLY, meant for appointment to posts under the Government of India from the designated authority indicating clearly, the candidate’s caste, the Act/Order under which the caste is recognized as OBC and the Village/Town the candidate is ordinarily a resident of.
- They must also ensure that the name of their caste/community and its spelling in their caste/community certificate should be exactly as mentioned in the lists notified by the central government from time to time (list of castes recognized by the Government of India as OBC castes in the central list is available on the site http://www.ncbc.nic.in)
