Recruitment and Assessment Centre (RAC) is seeking applications for the position of Chairperson. Eligible candidates include retired Scientists, Technologists, Academicians, or Civil Servants who have retired at the level of Secretary to the Government of India, or serving scientists or officers at the same level.
The Chairperson will be responsible for formulating policies related to recruitment and assessment of DRDO Scientists, ensuring objectivity and confidentiality in selection activities. The appointment will be for a period of three years or until the age of 65, whichever is earlier, with a salary corresponding to Level 17 of the Pay Matrix (Rs. 80,000/-).
The selection process will be conducted by a high-level Search-cum-Selection Committee appointed by the Government of India. Recruitment and Assessment Centre (RAC) is a corporate body of DRDO under Min. of Defence which is engaged in a wide range of selection activities related to recruitment, assessment and training of scientists of DRDO on regular basis.

Job Description:
Chairperson RAC is mainly responsible for formulation of policies related to recruitment and assessment of DRDO Scientists. Chairperson RAC is also responsible for providing guidance so as to ensure objectivity and confidentiality in execution of all selection activities so as to achieve highest level of satisfaction of all stakeholders
Duration of Appointment: Appointment will be made for a period of three (03) years or till attainment of 65 years of age, whichever is earlier.
Pay Scale for RAC Recruitment 2024
RAC is looking for a qualified candidate with an established and proven track record for appointment to the post of Chairperson RAC (Level 17 of Pay Matrix in the 7th CPC that corresponds to apex scale of Rs. 80,000/- of 6th CPC).
Selection Procedure for RAC Recruitment 2024
- The Chairperson will be selected through a high level Search-cum-Selection Committee appointed by the Government of India for the purpose, in accordance with extant DOP&T instructions, with the approval of Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC).
- The Search-cum-Selection Committee will have the authority to consider any other name(s) for the appointment to the said post apart from considering biodata received against this advertisement.
