The Physical Research Laboratory (PRL) has released a recruitment notification for the positions of Assistant and Junior Personal Assistant, offering a total of 16 vacancies located in Ahmedabad. For the Assistant position, candidates should hold a graduation degree with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA of 6.32 on a 10-point scale from a recognized university.
For the Junior Personal Assistant position, the same educational qualifications are required along with a minimum speed of 60 w.p.m. in English Stenography and proficiency in computer usage. Additionally, candidates with a Diploma in Commercial/Secretarial Practice are eligible for the Junior Personal Assistant position. Selected candidates will receive a salary in Level-4 (₹25,500 – ₹81,100/-) of Pay Matrix along with other allowances as per government rules.
The application process requires an initial fee of ₹500/-, with exemptions for specific categories. Qualification for PRL Recruitment 2024
Assistant
- Graduation with minimum of 60% marks or CGPA of 6.32 on a 10-point scale as declared by any recognized University, with a pre- requisite condition that Graduation should have been completed within the stipulated duration of the course as prescribed by the University
Junior Personal Assistant
- Graduation with minimum of 60% marks or CGPA of 6.32 on a 10-point scale as declared by any recognized University, with a pre- requisite condition that Graduation should have been completed within the stipulated duration of the course as prescribed by the University
- A minimum speed of 60 w.p.m. in English Stenography कंप्यटूर के उपयोग में प्रिीणता / Proficiency in the use of Computers
- Diploma in Commercial/Secretarial Practice with minimum of 60% marks or CGPA of 6.32 on a 10-point scale as declared by any recognized Board/University, with a pre- requisite condition that Diploma should have been completed within the stipulated duration of the course as prescribed by the University
Pay Scale for PRL Recruitment 2024
- Selected candidates will be appointed as ‘Assistant’ / ‘Junior Personal Assistant (JPA)’ in Level-4 (₹25,500 – ₹81,100/-) of Pay Matrix and will be paid minimum basic pay of ₹25,500/- p.m. In addition, Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance [HRA] and Transport Allowance at the prescribed rates in force at the place of posting will be paid for those who are not availing Departmental Housing and Transport facility, respectively.
- The employees will be governed by the National Pension System (NPS). On employment in PRL, other facilities are available such as medical facilities for self and dependents, canteen, Leave Travel Concession, Group Insurance, etc as per Central Government/PRL Rules.
Age Limit for PRL Recruitment 2024
- 18 - 28 Years as on 31.03.2024 (Maximum 33 years for SC/ST Candidates and 31 years for OBC candidates, against post reserved for these category
- Age relaxation of 10 years (15 years for SC/ST and 13 years for OBC candidates) in upper age limit shall be allowed to Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) in case of direct recruitment to all civil posts/services under the Central Government identified suitable to be held by persons with such disabilities.
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities are those whose disability (ies) is/are 40% or above.
- The upper age limit in the case of widows, divorced women and women judicially separated from their husbands who are not remarried shall be relaxed upto the age of 35 years (upto 40 years for members of Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes).
Application Fee for PRL Recruitment 2024
- An application fee of ₹.100/- shall be charged. Initially, all applicants have to uniformly pay ₹.500/- as application-fee including candidates belonging to fee-exempted categories (Women/SC/ST/PwBD/ExS).
- However, Candidates belonging to fee exemption category (Women/SC/ST/PwBD/ExS) will be refunded full application fee, if he/she attends the written test and UR/EWS/OBC candidates will be refunded ₹.400/-, if he/she attends the written test.
- The Application fee will not be refunded to all those Candidates, who fail to attend the written test.
- Candidates require to furnish correct bank account details with IFSC code in order to get refund while filling online application.
- All fee-exempted categories except women require to upload relevant certificate (SC/ST/PwBD/ExS) to get refund.
Selection Procedure for PRL Recruitment 2024
- The qualification prescribed is the minimum requirement and possession of the same does not automatically make candidates eligible for further evaluation for selection viz. Written Test/Skill Test.
- There will be an initial screening based on the on-line application. The criteria for screening will be decided vis-a-vis number of total applications or any other criteria as decided by PRL.
- A Written Test will be conducted at ten venues viz. Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Shillong, Thiruvananthapuram and Udaipur.
- However, PRL reserves the right to cancel/change the written test venue and re-allot the candidates to any other test centre. The call letters for written test will be sent only to the registered e-mail ID of candidates.
- The Written Test will be of two hours duration. However, Compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination is allowed to those PwBD candidates who are eligible for use of Scribe/reader owing to their physical limitation to write and scribe is essential to write the examination on their behalf irrespective of whether they use the facility of scribe or not.

- This is with reference to PRL advertisement no. 05/2024 dated 09.03.2024 for the recruitment of Assistants & Junior Personal Assistants, the last date for receipt of online Application is extended from 31.03.2024 @ 2400 Hrs to 15.04.2024 @ 2400 Hrs.

- Upon registration and successful submission of application, applicant will be provided with an on-line Registration Number (downloadable filled-in application) through email which should be carefully preserved for future reference.
- A valid Email ID & Mobile number of the applicant will have to be given in the application compulsorily. Hall tickets/ Call letters for written test/skill test for those who will be screened-in/shortlisted, will be sent through email only and no hard copy will be sent.
