The Post Office is hiring for 10 Skilled Artisan positions, offering a salary range of ₹19,000 to ₹63,200. To be eligible, candidates must be between 18 and 30 years old as of 01.07.2024. Qualification for Post Office Recruitment 2024
- To be eligible, candidates must meet one of the following criteria: either hold a certificate in the relevant trade from a government-recognized technical institution or have completed the 8th grade with a minimum of one year of experience in the trade.
- For those who have only an 8th-grade education and no trade certificate, an experience certificate is required. Additionally, candidates applying for the M.V. Mechanic trade must have a valid Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) driving license to conduct vehicle tests.
Pay Scale for Post Office Recruitment 2024
The pay scale for Skilled Artisans ranges from ₹19,900 to ₹63,200 (Level 2 in the pay matrix according to the 7th CPC), plus any applicable allowances. Applications will be accepted until 5:00 PM on the specified date.
Age Limit for Post Office Recruitment 2024
The age limit for direct recruits is set between 18 and 30 years as of 01.07.2024 for UR and EWS candidates.
Age calculations for applications are based on the same date, 01.07.2024, for UR and EWS candidates. Age relaxation for reserved categories is as follows:
- SC/ST candidates are allowed a relaxation of 5 years.
- OBC candidates are given a relaxation of 3 years.
- Central Government servants may be eligible for relaxation up to 40 years, according to Central Government guidelines.
- Ex-servicemen can receive a maximum relaxation of 3 years (8 years for SC/ST and 6 years for OBC) after subtracting the duration of their military service from their actual age (specifically for the Motor Vehicle Mechanic trade).
- Age relaxation as specified above will also be applicable for vacancies reserved for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

- EWS candidates must submit an Income & Asset certificate in the prescribed format, valid for the year 2024-25
- OBC candidates must provide a caste certificate and Non-Creamy Layer certificate in the prescribed format issued by a competent authority on or after 01.04.2024
- Application fee of ₹100/- in the form of IPO or UCR receipt issued by any post office
Selection Procedure for Post Office Recruitment 2024
The selection process for Skilled Artisans will involve a Competitive Trade Test, tailored to the syllabus specific to each trade. Candidates who meet the required qualifications will be assessed based on this test. Eligible candidates will receive detailed information about the syllabus, test date, venue, and duration along with their Hall Permits.
