Qualification for OSSSC Recruitment 2024

Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) - Arts:

• Bachelor’s degree in Arts/Commerce or Shastri (Sanskrit) with at least 45% marks for SEBC/SC/ST/PwD/Sportsperson/Ex-Servicemen candidates and 50% for others.
• Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) or a 3-year integrated B.Ed-M.Ed. from an NCTE recognized institution, or a 4-year integrated B.A. B.Ed. from an NCTE recognized institution.
• Must have passed the Odisha Secondary School Teacher Eligibility Test (OSSTET).

Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) - Science (PCM):

• Bachelor’s degree in Science/B.Tech/BE with two school subjects and at least 45% marks for SEBC/SC/ST/PwD/Sportsperson/Ex-Servicemen candidates and 50% for others.
• B.Ed or a 3-year integrated B.Ed-M.Ed. from an NCTE recognized institution, or a 4-year integrated B.Sc. B.Ed. from an NCTE recognized institution.
• Must have passed the OSSTET.

Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) - Science (CBZ):

• Similar qualifications as TGT-Science (PCM) but with subjects Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, or Biotechnology.

Hindi Teacher:

• Bachelor’s degree with Hindi as an elective/optional/pass/honours subject with 45% marks for SEBC/SC/ST/PwD/Sportsperson/Ex-Servicemen candidates and 50% for others.
• Additional qualifications like Hindi Shikshan Parangat, B.H.Ed., or B.Ed. in Hindi from recognized institutions.
• Must have passed the OSSTET.

Sanskrit Teacher:

• Bachelor’s degree with Sanskrit as an elective/optional/pass/honours subject with 45% marks for SEBC/SC/ST/PwD/Sportsperson/Ex-Servicemen candidates and 50% for others.
• Shiksha Shastri (Sanskrit) or equivalent qualification from an NCTE recognized institution.
• Must have passed the OSSTET.

Physical Education Teacher (PET):

• Passed +2 or equivalent examination with C.P.Ed./B.P.Ed./M.P.Ed. from a recognized board/university.
• Must have passed the OSSTET.

Sevak/Sevika and Tribal Language Teacher:

• Passed +2 Arts/Science/Commerce or equivalent with CT/D.I.E.T training and OTET pass.
• Proficiency in the tribal language applicable.

Age Limit for OSSSC Recruitment 2024

A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not be above the age of 38 years as on 1st January 2024. Date of birth as recorded in the HSC certificate issued by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha or equivalent certificate issued by any recognized Board/Council/Indian University shall only be accepted.

Selection Procedure for OSSSC Recruitment 2024

• Written Test: - The Written Test shall be held in all Districts. The date of Written Test will be notified later.
• Tribal Language Skill Test: - The applicants who will qualify the Written Test for Tribal language Teacher, they will appear the Tribal Language Skill Test to assess the oral tribal language efficiency in pedagogic transaction which will be held within two months after the Written Test and will be of qualifying in nature only.
• The date, time and venue of the Written Test will be intimated to the eligible candidates through the admission letters to be issued online in due course from a specific date to be notified in the said website later.
• The candidates are advised to visit the website of the Commission at regular intervals and also keep track of different notices to be published by the Commission to know about the detailed programme of the examination.
