ONGC is currently recruiting retired personnel at levels E3 to E6 with Q1/Q2 qualifications and a minimum of 5 years of experience in drilling field operations for Consultant and Junior Consultant positions, totaling 10 vacancies. The salary ranges from Rs. 42,000 to Rs. 70,000 per month, inclusive of GST.
Applicants must be within the age limit of 65 years during their tenure or for a maximum of 2 years, whichever is earlier. Selection will be based on a written test and an interaction/interview, with specific criteria outlined by the Selection Committee. The written test consists of 40 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 90 minutes, with a passing score of 28 out of 80. Those who qualify will proceed to the Interaction/Interview stage, where a minimum score of 12 out of 20 is required.

Pay Scale for ONGC Recruitment 2024
- ONGC is currently hiring for Consultant and Junior Consultant positions, with a total of 10 vacancies available. The salary range for these positions is Rs. 42,000 to Rs. 70,000 per month. Additionally, the monthly compensation package, remuneration, and emoluments include GST, which will be borne by the consultants.
- Monthly Compensation package/ Remuneration / Emoluments are inclusive of GST. Applicable GST is to be- borne by the individual. The ONGC E6 level retired Employees can also be eligible for engagement purpose as Consultant. However, they will be paid remuneration for E4-E5 levels only, as per above.
Age Limit for ONGC Recruitment 2024
Age limit: Maximum age allowed shall be 65 years during their tenure as consultant(s) or for a period of 02 years, whichever is earlier; at the time of advertisement published on ONGC Portal i.e. ongcindia.com (while referring ONGC office order vide no. 17(11)/07-CP dated 15.06.2023 issued by Corporate Policy section, ONGC Ltd. Dehradun ).
Selection Process for ONGC Recruitment 2024
- The selection process for candidates will be based on specific criteria outlined by the Selection Committee, totaling 100 marks. This process includes a written test and an interaction/interview.
- The written test will be conducted in a pen-paper format, featuring a bilingual (English and Hindi) question paper with 40 multiple-choice questions to be completed within 90 minutes. Each correct answer will earn the candidate 2 marks, with no deductions for incorrect responses. To qualify, candidates must score a minimum of 28 marks out of 80, equating to 35% of the total marks.
- Those who pass the written test will proceed to the Interaction/Interview stage, which carries a total of 20 marks. To qualify this stage, candidates must achieve at least 12 marks, which represents 60% of the total marks allotted for the Interaction/Interview.
- Finally, candidates will be selected based on their overall merit, and offers of engagement will be extended accordingly.
