Northern Railway Central Hospital, New Delhi, is seeking applications for the position of Senior Resident under the Senior Residency Scheme. Applicants must fill out the prescribed format on an A4 Size Paper and submit it with all necessary enclosures. Walk-in interviews will be conducted for various specialties, with specified dates and times listed.
Candidates are required to report to the Auditorium, 1st Floor, Academic Block, Northern Railway Central Hospital, New Delhi, at 8:30 A.M. on the designated interview date, carrying original documents for verification along with self-attested copies. Selection will be based on a walk-in interview process following document verification. Eligibility criteria include educational qualifications recognized by MCI/NBE in the respective specialty, valid registration with Medical Councils, and age limits ranging from 37 to 42 years depending on the category.
The initial appointment is for one year, extendable up to a maximum of three years subject to satisfactory performance. The pay scale is at Matrix Level-11 (Rs. 67700-208700) with allowances as admissible. COVID-19 precautions are to be observed during the process.

Qualifications Details for Northern Railway Recruitment 2024
- Post Graduate Degree recognized by MCI/NBE in the concerned Specialty.
- Post Graduate Diploma recognized by MCI/ NBE in the concerned Specialty.
- The candidate should have completed the tenure of PG Degree/ Diploma before the date of the interview.
- For SR selection in all specialties, If candidates with PG qualification are not available in a particular specialty, candidates without having PG qualification but having at least three years experience after MBBS, out of which one year of Junior Residency from a Government Hospital(300 beds or more) or MCI recognized/NBE accredited private hospital(300 beds or more) in the concerned specialty, can be considered for a period of one year only.
Age Limit for Northern Railway Recruitment 2024
As per the notification dated 14.05.2024, the age criteria for candidates applying to the Senior Resident position are as follows: for General/UR category, the maximum age limit is 37 years, which can be relaxed up to 40 years in case of non-availability of candidates within the specified age limit. Similarly, for OBC candidates, the maximum age limit is 40 years, extendable to 43 years under the relaxation clause. For SC/ST candidates, the maximum age limit is 42 years, extendable to 45 years under the relaxation provision.
Pay Scale for Northern Railway Recruitment 2024
The Northern Railway is offering the position of Senior Resident with a pay scale set at Matrix Level-11, which corresponds to a salary range of Rs. 67,700 to Rs. 2,08,700 as per the revised pay structure under the 7th Central Pay Commission at entry level. Additionally, allowances as per admissible norms will be provided.
Selection Process for Northern Railway Recruitment 2024
Selection will be through the process of Walk-in Interview basis. After verification of documents, only those candidates who are found eligible will be allowed to appear for the Interview. All documents have to be produced in ORIGINAL at the time of Interviews along with the self attested copies

- Candidates should report with Application form duly filled in and signed along with self attested copies of all the requisite documents in Auditorium ,1st Floor , Academic Block, Northern Railway Central Hospital, New Delhi on the Date of Walk in Interview date at 8.30 A.M. They must carry with them all the Documents in ORIGINAL & produce the same for verification.
- The Date and Time of the Walk in Interview is specified against each Specialty. Any request for a change in dates will not be entertained.
