The National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) is seeking applications for the position of Project Associate (Transport) for their GEF7 project. The duties of the Project Associate include supporting the development of knowledge and tools for data collection, producing guidelines for transit corridor planning, and supporting cities in planning bicycle sharing and EV infrastructure.

The ideal candidate should have a master's degree in Urban Planning or related fields, proficiency in office software and GIS tools, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently. The upper age limit for this position is 30 years, and the Project Associate will report to the Team Lead/Project Implementation Lead at NIUA.

Qualifications Details for NIUA Recruitment 2024

• Master’s degree in Urban Planning/ Transport Planning/ Urban Design or other related fields, with an understanding of the sustainable transport, innovation in NbS and NMT with focus on climate resilient civic infrastructure.
• Proficiency in use of office software packages (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), AutoCAD, traffic simulation and modelling software, etc.
• Good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, with an ability to work in a multi- cultural environment.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Experience of working with Central Govt./ State Govt./ National Urban Missions (SMART City, AMRUT, etc.)/ Multilateral and bilateral organizations/ Local Bodies/ Resource centres/ NGOs/ Communities.
• Working knowledge of GIS softwares (ArcMap, AutoCAD Map, QGIS, etc.) will be an added advantage.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English. A good command over regional language (of Project cities) and Hindi is desirable.
