The National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) invites applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a SERB-Core Research Grant funded project titled "Prawn shell-derived natural protein-based highly efficient UV protection coating for drug products".
The project, led by Dr. Saumen Mandal and Dr. Saikat Dutta, aims to develop innovative UV protection coatings. The JRF position requires a postgraduate degree in relevant disciplines with a minimum of 60% aggregate score, and candidates must have qualified the GATE examination. The fellowship is Rs. 31,000 per month, and the duration of the project is until 27th February 2025, with the possibility of the candidate registering for a PhD at NITK, Surathkal.

Qualification for NITK Surathkal Recruitment 2024
- M.Tech./M.E. in Metallurgical & Materials Engineering/ Materials Engineering / Metallurgical Engineering / Nanotechnology/ Chemical Engineering/ Polymer Science & Technology/ Biotechnology/M.Sc. in Chemistry (Organic Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, or similar)/M.Sc. in Physics (Nanomaterials, Condensed matter or similar)/M.Sc. in Botany/M.Sc. in Zoology and allied areas with a minimum of 60% aggregate score (6.5/10 CGPA).
- Candidate must have qualified the GATE examination (old gate score is also considered). Proof of M.Tech./ M.E/M.Sc. degree (awarded) has to be provided during the interview.
