The National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, invites applications from Indian Nationals for the position of Junior Research Fellow/Project Associate-I in the research project "Automated Segmentation and Analysis of Neonatal and Infant Brain Magnetic Resonance Images" under Dr. Varun P. Gopi, funded by SERB. The candidate must hold a Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science or a Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in a Professional Course selected through national eligibility tests like CSIR-UGC NET or GATE, or through other national level examinations conducted by central government departments and agencies.
Essential qualifications include a B.E/B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering with a minimum of 65% marks or 6.5 CGPA, or an M.E/M.Tech/M.S. in Signal Processing/Image Processing/ECE with 65% marks or 6.5 CGPA, along with a valid GATE score obtained within the last four years.
Emoluments range from ₹25,000 to ₹35,000 plus HRA, depending on qualifications and experience, for a duration of 36 months with a possibility of extension based on performance reviews. Responsibilities include data collection, project execution, and preparation of reports and technical articles.

Qualifications Details for NIT Trichy Recruitment 2024
Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science OR Graduate / Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course selected through a process described through any one of the following:
- Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests - CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE.
- The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.
- B. E/ B. Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering with minimum of 65% marks or 6.5 CGPA from a recognized University/ Institute with a qualified GATE score obtained in the last four years from the closing date of application OR M.E/M.Tech/M.S. in Signal Processing/Image Processing/any other specialization in ECE selected through GATE with 65% marks or 6.5 CGPA having relevant research/ teaching experience as evidence from published papers in standard refereed journals.
