Applications are being sought from Indian Nationals for Project Positions under Dr. Varun P. Gopi at the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli. The project, funded by MeitY through the Chips to Startup (C2S) Programme, focuses on developing an Ultra Low Power SHAKTI RISC V Based Lightweight Edge AI Processor for IoT enabled Healthcare Applications.
Two positions, Junior Research Fellow (JRF) or Project Associate-I (PA-I), are available. Candidates must hold a Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science or a Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in a Professional Course with qualifications as outlined. Essential requirements include a B.E./B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering with a minimum of 65% marks or 6.5 CGPA, or an M.E./M.Tech in relevant fields with a GATE qualification.
Desired skill sets encompass Verilog RTL Coding, proficiency in programming languages like C/C++ and MATLAB, AI algorithm implementation, familiarity with FPGA architecture and programming, as well as experience in IoT-based product design and development. Emoluments range from 25,000 to 42,000 INR along with HRA.

Qualifications Details for NIT Trichy Recruitment 2024
- Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science OR Graduate / Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course selected through a process described through any one of the following:
- Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests - CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE.
- B. E/ B. Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering with minimum of 65% marks or 6.5 CGPA from a recognized University/ Institute with a qualified GATE score obtained in the last four years from the closing date of application OR M.E/M.Tech in Embedded System/VLSI/Signal Processing any other specialization in ECE selected through GATE with 65% marks or 6.5 CGPA having relevant research/ teaching experience as evidence from published papers in standard refereed journals.
