The Department of Physics and Astronomy at NIT Rourkela is inviting applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for a project titled "Quark-gluon plasma observables in a strong magnetic background," funded by SERB. The project, led by Prof. Subhash Chandra Mahapatra, aims to explore the effects of magnetic fields on QCD observables and construct magnetized gauge/gravity models.
The JRF position requires an MSc in Physics with 65% or CGPA 7 and a valid NET/GATE qualification. Candidates in their final year of M.Sc. are also eligible. The selected candidate will receive a monthly stipend of INR 37,000 for the first two years and INR 42,000 for the third year, with no HRA provided. Qualifications Details for NIT Rourkela Recruitment 2024
- MSc Physics with 65 % or CGPA 7 with Valid NET/GATE. Candidates who are in the final year of M.Sc. are also eligible to apply provided they have valid NET/GATE.
- It would be desirable if the candidate has taken a course on general relativity and quantum field theory.
- The candidate must be comfortable in coding. Experience with the Mathematica software would be desirable.
- The candidate must know how to write in Latex
Pay Scale for NIT Rourkela Recruitment 2024
The position available is for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF), with one vacancy for a duration of three years. The monthly stipend for the first two years is INR 37,000, with no applicable House Rent Allowance (HRA). For the third year, the stipend increases to INR 42,000, again with no applicable HRA.
Age Limit for NIT Rourkela Recruitment 2024
The upper age limit for applying for the award of project position shall be 28 years, which is relaxed up to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to Schedule castes/Schedule Tribes / PWD and female applicants whereas 3 years in the case of OBCs (Non-creamy layer candidates), Upper age limit shall be reckoned as on the last date of receipt of applications.
