National Institute of Technology Meghalaya (NIT Meghalaya) has released a recruitment notification for the position of Professor.
The eligibility criteria require candidates to have a minimum of 15 years of technical, managerial, or professional experience, along with at least a bachelor’s degree in engineering/architecture/design/medicine or master’s degree in sciences/ humanities/ management/ education/ law or related fields. While a Ph.D. is desirable, it is not essential.
The positions are initially for a period of one year, extendable up to three years or up to the age of 70 years, based on performance. Qualification for NIT Meghalaya Recruitment 2024
- Candidates should have reasonable (minimum 15) years of technical, managerial, or professional experience.
- They should have at least a bachelor’s degree in engineering/ architecture/ design/ medicine or master’s degree in sciences/ Humanities/ Management/ Education/ Law or related fields.
- Ph.D. is desirable but not essential. Depending on the years of experience, the person may be offered the position of Professor/ Associate Professor/Assistant Professor of Practice.
- Retired persons from industry/ R&D organisations also will be considered.
- Professor of Practice posts are not open for those who are in teaching profession.
Pay Scale for NIT Meghalaya Recruitment 2024
National Institute of Technology Meghalaya (NIT Meghalaya) has opened recruitment for the position of Professor. The pay scale for this role is described as an honorarium, which will be a consolidated amount mutually agreed upon between the Institute and the Expert. Additionally, accommodation will be provided as part of the benefits.
Selection Procedure for NIT Meghalaya Recruitment 2024
- All positions shall be appointed by the Director based on the recommendations of the duly constituted screening cum selection committee.
- All are short term contract positions only, initially for a period of 01 (one) year, extendable for a total period of 03 (three) years, or up to the age of 70 years, whichever is earlier. The extension shall be based on performance and on the recommendation of the committee.
- Reputed scientists, engineers, physicians, civil servants, technocrats, financial experts, entrepreneurs, architects, managers, experts in media, literature, fine arts, legal profession, public administration, armed forces, designers and other professionals, can be considered for the above faculty positions based on the eligibility as mentioned above.
- Director has the right to consider applications of exceptionally good candidates not falling in the above-mentioned criteria.
- Persons appointed as Professor of Practice will have no right or claim for regular appointment or continuation of the post in NIT Meghalaya, other than the terms specified above.
- The Director has the right to terminate the positions at any stage, under extreme circumstances.
