The National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM) has released a notification for the recruitment of one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) on a contract basis for an externally-funded project at NIFTEM, Kundli. The project aims to develop biodegradable packaging material and antimicrobial films for prolonged shelf life of perishable food products.
The selected candidate will receive a salary of Rs. 35,000/- per month along with 9% House Rent Allowance (HRA). The selection process involves shortlisting candidates for an interview, and selected candidates may also have the opportunity to register for a Ph.D. program at NIFTEM-K.

Qualification for NIFTEM Recruitment 2024
- Name of the Project: “Development of biodegradable packaging material and antimicrobial films for Prolonged Shelf Life of Perishable Food Products”
- Essential Qualifications: B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc in Food Technology/ Biotechnology/ Microbiology/Nutrition /Food engineering AND
- M.E/M.Tech/M.Sc in Food Technology/ Biotechnology/ Microbiology/ Nutrition/ Food engineering/ Printing and packaging Technology and allied courses. Selected through a process described through any one of the following:
- Selected through National Eligibility Tests CSIR/UGC NET (including Lectureship) and GATE.
- Selected through National Level Examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.
- Candidates having knowledge and experience in Microbiology, Food processing and preservation, Packaging, Food Safety, Toxicology, handling analytical equipments.
- A strong commitment and motivation to pursue research in the subject area and having good communication skills.
Pay Scale for NIFTEM Recruitment 2024
The National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM) is offering an attractive pay scale for the position of Junior Research Fellow as part of its recruitment for 2024. The emoluments per month for this position are Rs. 35,000 plus 9% House Rent Allowance (HRA).
Selection Procedure for NIFTEM Recruitment 2024
- Short-listed candidates will be called for interview. No TA/DA will be given to candidates for attending the interview
- The date and time ofinterview will be informed later to the candidates by email only.Candidates should appear for interview along with their original certificates and other relevant documents.
- Selected candidate is also permitted to register for Ph.D. program in NIFTEM-K as per eligibility and selection procedure.
