National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB), Hyderabad, is seeking applications for the position of Senior Research Fellow (1 Position) for the project titled "Development and evaluation of a recombinant BCG vaccine expressing multi-epitope antigens against bovine tuberculosis" led by Dr. Bappaditya Dey.
The position is tenure up to one year, likely to be extended based on performance and co-terminus with the project's duration in August 2025. Eligible candidates must hold a Post Graduate Degree in Life Sciences with 2 years of research experience after Post-graduation, along with NET/GATE qualification. Experience in various areas including BSL3 work, cell culture, immune assays, and data analysis is preferred. Fellowship amount is Rs. 35,000/- PM + HRA for candidates with NET/GATE qualification.
The age limit is 35 years with relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per government rules. Applications must be filled online through the NIAB website by April 12, 2024, 5 PM. Interim enquiries will not be entertained, and suitable candidates will be screened, informed via email, and interviewed by a selection committee through online mode. Qualification for NIAB Recruitment 2024
- Post Graduate Degree in Life Sciences (Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Immunology, etc. with 2 years duration and NET/GATE qualification along with 2 years of research experience after Post-graduation in any of the following relevant field.
- Candidates with prior experience in any of the following areas will be preferred.
- BSL3 work experience, in vitro culturing of Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
- Cell culture experience handling of primary PBMC cells, mouse and human macrophage cells, and in vitro infection of macrophages with M. tuberculosis and other Mycobacterium species.
- ABSL3 work experience in handling mouse and guinea pigs, immunisation, blood collection, dissection, organ harvesting etc.
- Immune assays such as ELISA, FACS/MACS, Immunofluorescence Microscopy.
- LCMS based proteome and transcriptome data analysis
Salary for NIAB Recruitment 2024
- Fellowship amount for eligible candidates with National Eligibility Test (NET) or GATE qualification is Rs. 35,000/- per month along with HRA (if applicable), as per DST guidelines
