The Department of Education in Social Sciences (DESS), a constituent unit of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), is seeking to fill temporary and contractual positions for the Samagra Shiksha of NCERT - PAB Research Project for the fiscal year 2024-25.
The project, titled "A Study of Economic Conceptions in Indian Knowledge System," aims to explore economic ideas within the Indian knowledge framework. Two positions are available: one for a Senior Consultant and another for a Consultant.
The Senior Consultant role requires a post-graduation degree in Economics/Social Science, along with at least 5 years of experience in research projects. A Ph.D. in a relevant subject is desirable, along with proficiency in Hindi and English, and expertise in data analysis software.

Qualifications Details for NCERT Recruitment 2024
Senior Consultant:
- Post-graduation in Economics/Social Science with qualifications as per UGC Guidelines for Assistant Professor at entry level
- 05 years' experience in the research projects in any organization
- Ph.D. in relevant subject, working Knowledge of Hindi (typing in Unicode) and English language. Translation from English to Hindi and Hindi to English.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and other software used in data Analysis, Corel draw, in-design, graphic designing.
- Experience in data collection and its interpretation, data handling/analysis, Report writing, book writing, organizing workshops at Centre and State levels, maintaining data and records of administrative nature.
Consultant:
- Post-graduation in Economics/Social Science and Language (Sanskrit and Hindi) with qualifications as per UGC Guidelines for Assistant Professor at entry level
- 03 years' experience in the research projects in any organization Desirable Qualification: i. Ph.D. Degree in relevant subject, working Knowledge of Sanskrit, Hindi (typing in Unicode), and English language. Translation from Sanskrit to Hindi and Hindi to English.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and other software used in data Analysis, Corel draw, in-design, graphic designing.
- Experience in data collection and its interpretation, data handling/analysis, Report writing, book writing, organizing workshops at Centre and State levels, maintaining data and records of administrative nature.
Age Limit for NCERT Recruitment 2024
NCERT seeks Senior Consultant and Consultant for the "A Study of Economic Conceptions in Indian Knowledge System" project. Applicants must have post-graduation in Economics/Social Science, with 5 years' experience for Senior Consultant and 3 years' for Consultant. Age limit: 45 years, extendable to 70 for retired faculty members as per government norms.

Selection Process for NCERT Recruitment 2024
- Only the shortlisted candidates will be called for writing test and interview
- Shortlisted candidates must bring the print out of the application in the prescribed format along with self- attested photocopies of testimonials/certificates and one photograph at the time of interview
