The National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) is seeking applications for the position of Deputy Director on a deputation basis from eligible officers of the Central Government, State Governments, Union territories, statutory or autonomous organizations, public sector undertakings, recognized universities, or research institutions.
The selected officer will be appointed to Level 11 in the pay matrix (Rs. 67700-208700/-) and will serve for an initial period of four years, extendable depending on requirements. Applicants must not exceed 56 years of age and should hold a Master's Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Economics, Anthropology, Statistics, Psychology, Geography, or Mathematics (with Statistics) from a recognized university or institute, along with two years of experience in conducting surveys or research in social welfare.
Officers meeting the eligibility criteria must submit their applications along with required documents through proper channels to the designated address in New Delhi. The deadline for application submission is 60 days from the publication of the advertisement in the Employment News. Eligibility Conditions for Ministry of Tribal Affairs Recruitment 2024
- Officers of the Central Government or State Governments or Union territory or statutory or autonomous organisations or public sector undertakings or recognised Universities or recognised research institutions, holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre or department;
- or with five years service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in level 10 (Rs. 56100-177500/-) in the pay matrix or equivalent in the parent cadre or department; and possessing the educational qualification and experience as under, namely:-
- Masters Degree in Social Work or Sociology or Economics or Anthropology or Social Anthropology or Applied Anthropology or Statistics or Psychology or Geography or Mathematics (with Statistics) from a recognised University or Institute. two years experience of conducting survey or research in the field of social welfare including analysis of data and preparation of reports.

- The selected officers will be posted in the NCST Headquarter at New Delhi or any of the regional offices located at Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jaipur, Raipur, Ranchi and Shillong as decided by NCST.
- Officers, once selected will not be allowed to withdraw their candidature subsequently.
