Space Applications Centre (SAC), Ahmedabad is one of the lead Centres of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Department of Space (DOS). SAC focuses on design of space borne instruments for terrestrial and planetary missions of ISRO and development and operationalisation of space technology for societal benefits.
The applications cover communication, broadcasting, navigation, disaster monitoring, meteorology, oceanography, environment monitoring and management of natural resources. All the transponders for the INSAT and GSAT series of communication satellites and the optical and microwave sensors for IRS series of earth observation satellites are designed and developed at SAC.
Further, SAC develops ground transmit and receive systems and data / image processing systems. SAC has highly sophisticated payload design & integration laboratories, facilities for electronic & mechanical fabrication, environmental tests and image processing & analysis.

Qualification for ISRO SAC Recruitment 2024

M. Tech or equivalent degree with a minimum of 60% marks (average of all semesters/years) or CGPA/CPI grading of 6.5 on a 10-point scale, or M.Sc. with a minimum of 65% marks or CGPA/CPI grading of 6.84 on a 10-point scale in:
- Geophysics or Applied Geophysics or Geology or Applied Geology
- Physics or Mathematics
- Marine Biology or Marine Geophysics
- Geo-informatics or Remote Sensing or Geospatial Technology

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Science/Engineering/Technology.

Ph.D. in Oceanography, Physical Oceanography, Meteorology, or related disciplines, focusing on research in Physical Oceanography.

Minimum of 3 years’ research, teaching, design, and development experience after M.E. or M. Tech in Oceanography, Physical Oceanography, Meteorology, or related disciplines, with at least one research paper published in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.

Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science, Meteorology, or related disciplines, focusing on research in Atmospheric Science.

Minimum of 3 years’ research, teaching, design, and development experience after M.E. or M. Tech in Atmospheric Science or Meteorology, with at least one research paper published in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.
Pay Scale for ISRO SAC Recruitment 2024
- Fellowship amount (JRF): For 1st& 2nd year ₹37000/- Per month + HRA, For the subsequent years ₹42000/- Per month + HRA
- Research Associateship amount (RA): Research Associate - 1 ₹58000/- Per month + HRA, Research Associate – 2 ₹61000/- Per month + HRA, Research Associate – 3 ₹67000/- Per month + HRA
- Candidates would be awarded one of the above grades of Research Associateship amount depending on their merit as assessed by the Selection Committee
- HRA at the prescribed rates in force at the place of posting will be paid and Medical benefits for self only will be allowed as per extant rules.
- The fellowship amount shall be taken as Basic pay for this purpose. Leave and other benefits will be granted as per extant DOS/GOI rules.
- Apart from this, the candidates selected will not be entitled to any benefits or concessions admissible to regular employees.
Age Limit for ISRO SAC Recruitment 2024
- Junior Research Fellows: Maximum Age limit is 28 years as on 07.10.2024.
- Research Associate: Maximum Age limit is 35 years as on 07.10.2024
- Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years in case of SC/ST and 3 years in case of OBC-NCL candidates.
- Serving Central Govt. Employees, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities etc. are eligible for upper age relaxation as per Govt. of India rules/orders.

Selection Procedure for ISRO SAC Recruitment 2024
- The prescribed qualifications are the minimum requirements; meeting them does not guarantee eligibility for selection.
- Shortlisting will be based on academic records and/or a written test (if applicable).
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview.
- Communication regarding shortlisting will only be sent to eligible candidates.
- Selection will be based solely on performance in the personal interview.
- Candidates claiming equivalent specialization must provide a certificate from their Institute/University confirming the equivalence.
- SAC reserves the right to make the final decision.
- Call letters for interviews will be sent only via e-mail to shortlisted candidates.
- No communication will be made to candidates who are not shortlisted.

- Applications will be received online only. The online recruitment portal will be available from 1000 hours on 17.09.2024 to 1730 hours on 07.10.2024 for online registration and filling up of online application.
