The Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Mohali, is seeking highly motivated candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a research project titled "Insight study into the photo-redox catalysis for simultaneous CO2 reduction and biomass oxidation: Boosting sustainable economy," funded by the SERB Core Research Grant Scheme of the Government of India.
The Principal Investigator for this project is Dr. Kamalakannan Kailasam, Scientist-G. The position requires a Post Graduate degree in Chemistry or a Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in a Professional Course, with selection through national eligibility tests such as CSIR-UGC NET or through examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
The selected candidate will receive a fellowship of Rs. 31,000/- per month plus HRA as applicable. Applications should be submitted via email attachment in the prescribed format by 18.04.2024, and only shortlisted candidates will be notified for interview via email.

Qualifications Details for INST Recruitment 2024
Essential Qualification:
- Post Graduate degree in Chemistry or Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course selected through a process described through any one of the following:
- Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE.
- The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER etc
Desirable Experience:
- Research experience in synthesis of nanomaterials and catalysis is preferable
Age Limit for INST Recruitment 2024
- The maximum age limit for applicants is 28 years as of April 18, 2024, with relaxation applicable for specific reserved categories according to Government of India regulations.
- Certain reserved categories are eligible for relaxation in the age limit as per Government of India rules.
General Terms and Conditions for INST Recruitment 2024
- The position is purely temporary and on contractual basis and renewable each year subject to satisfactory performance for a maximum of three years/till the completion of the project. The position is co-terminus with the project. Candidate selected for this position can also apply for the regular PhD program of INST provided they satisfy eligibility criteria.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
- Original documents of age proof/certificates/degrees/mark sheets and other testimonials must be presented along with the self-attested photocopies of these documents at the time of interview (when interview will take in person)
