IIT Ropar invites applications for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position under a Science and Engineering Research Board sponsored project on seismic design provisions. The position is initially for 6 months, extendable up to 36 months based on performance.
Emoluments are fixed at Rs. 31,000 per month. Candidates with a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering/Earthquake Engineering/Civil Engineering are eligible, with preference given to those with experience in structural analysis/design and knowledge of Finite Element Modelling and Coding.

Qualification for IIT Ropar Recruitment 2024
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering/Earthquake Engineering or Equivalent from a recognized institute and with an exceptionally good academic record with a minimum CGPA of 7.0 on a 10.0 point scale (or 70% marks) + good GATE score.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Equivalent from a recognized institute and with an exceptionally good academic record with a minimum CGPA of 7.0 on a 10.0 point scale (or 70% marks) + good GATE score.
- Hands on experience of structural/building analysis and design (Proof: Portfolio and/or experience certificate).
- Exposure to Finite Element Modelling and Coding including knowledge on OPNSEES and Python.
