Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Ropar under the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) Sponsored Project titled “Development of an algorithmic procedure to extract Geomorphological attributes governing floods in headwater catchments and evaluating their potential in predicting design floods at ungauged locations”. The position is purely temporary and it is initially for 6 Months and may be extended upon satisfactory performance after review.
IIT Ropar has released a recruitment notification for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Department of Civil Engineering. This position is part of a Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) sponsored project aimed at developing algorithms to extract Geomorphological attributes that influence floods in headwater catchments. The initial duration of the position is 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance.
The salary offered is Rs. 37,000 per month on a consolidated basis. Applicants must have an M.E./M.Tech. in Water Resources Engineering, Remote Sensing and GIS, or equivalent, with a good academic record and GATE score. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with similar credentials is acceptable.
Hands-on experience in GIS applications and proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or R programming languages is required. Shortlisted candidates will undergo an interview, either in person or online. Qualifications For IIT Ropar Recruitment 2024
- M.E./M.Tech. in Water Resources Engineering or Remote Sensing and GIS or Equivalent from a recognized institute and with an exceptionally good academic record with good GATE score.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Equivalent from a recognized institute and with an exceptionally good academic record with good GATE score.
- Integrated Masters degree in relevant field from a recognized institute and with an exceptionally good academic record
- Hands on experience on GIS applications, Surface Water Hydrology applications (Proof: Portfolio and/or experience certificate)
- Exposure to coding in MATLAB, Python, R, etc.
