Indian nationals are invited to apply for project positions under Prof Himanshu Jain at the Department of Hydro and Renewable Energy, IIT Roorkee, for the project titled "Optimization Studies for Hydropower Stations in Cascade for River Jhelum in J&K," sponsored by Grid Controller of India, Ltd., New Delhi.

Two Project Fellow positions are available, requiring either a Ph.D. in Engineering/Mathematics/Operations Research with relevant experience, M. Tech with experience, or B. Tech with extensive experience in optimization or power systems. Emoluments range from Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 1,00,000 per month along with HRA, and the duration is nine months or until project completion.

Responsibilities include developing optimization tools, attending meetings, and preparing research articles and reports. Candidates must ensure eligibility before applying and submit applications by April 22, 2024, with necessary documents. Preference will be given to SC/ST candidates, and no TA/DA is provided for interviews.

Qualification for IIT Roorkee Recruitment 2024

• Ph.D in Engineering or PhD in Mathematics/Operations Research (with 2 year experience in optimization or operations research after PhD) or
• M. Tech in Engineering with 3 years of experience in optimization or power systems or hydropower engineering. Or
• B. Tech in Engineering with 6 years of experience in optimization or power systems or hydropower engineering.
• Desirable background: Applied optimization, including formulation of problems and their solution using software such as Matlab, GAMS, and other such software.

• Candidates before appearing for the interview shall ensure that they are eligible for the position they intend to apply.
• Candidates desiring to appear for the Interview should submit their applications with the following documents to the office of Principal Investigator through email, by post or produce at the time of Interview
• Application in a plain paper with detailed CV including chronological discipline of degree/certificates obtained.
• Experience including research, industrial field and others.
• Attested copies of degree/certificate and experience certificate.
• Candidate shall bring along with them the original degree(s)/certificate(s) and experience certificate(s) at the time of interview for verification.
• Preference will be given to SC/ST candidates on equal qualifications and experience.
• Please note that no TA/DA is admissible for attending the interview.
