The Department of Hydro and Renewable Energy at the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, is seeking applications from Indian nationals for project positions funded by the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (R&D Division), under the supervision of Dr. Arun Kumar.
The project, titled "Centre of Excellence – Research and development of Ultra Low Head (ULH) and Hydrokinetic Turbines and performance prediction of small hydro turbine model/projects," aims to explore the potential of ultra-low head and hydrokinetic turbines.
Two positions for Research Associate (Potential Assessment) are available for individuals with an M.Tech in Civil, Mechanical, or Hydropower Engineering. Desirable qualifications include experience in power potential assessment for ultra-low head and hydrokinetic systems. The emoluments range from Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 75,000 per month, plus HRA, for a duration of one year or until the project's completion in three years. Responsibilities include preliminary assessment based on secondary data, site visits, and coordination with relevant agencies
