The Indian Institute of Technology Madras is seeking applications for two temporary positions of Lead Engineer/Technical Lead/Senior Technical Lead - RF Power Amplifier (R&D) within the Solid-State Microwave Generator Group at the India Center for Lab Grown Diamond (InCentLGD).
Reporting to Prof. M. S. Ramachandra Rao of the Department of Physics, the primary responsibility involves designing and developing high-efficiency AC/DC power supplies exceeding 500W output power, with expertise in power and control circuit analysis, magnetics component design, power component selection, and PCB design.
Applicants must hold a Doctorate or Master's degree with at least 5 years of industrial R&D experience in switched-mode power conversion, with proficiency in firmware development, DFMEA, and RCA methods. Preferred qualifications include experience in power electronics circuit design, thermal and mechanical design, PCB design for EMC compliance, and familiarity with SiC and GaN devices. Proficiency in DSP and FPGA-based control and management circuits, simulation software, system architecture design, and product development life cycle is desired.

Qualifications Details for IIT Madras Recruitment 2024
- Doctorate (fresher) or master’s degree with 5+ years of industrial experience in R&D in Switched mode power conversion.
- Good fundamental knowledge in Switched mode power conversion to design and develop high efficiency AC/DC power supplies for 3 phase input, output power of >5kW along with knowledge of magnetic component design, high frequency high power PCB layout, Firmware development, DFMEA and RCA methods
Pay Scale for IIT Madras Recruitment 2024
IIT Madras is hiring for the position of Lead Engineer/Technical Lead/Senior Technical Lead, with 2 vacancies available. The salary for the role is a consolidated pay of ₹1,00,000 per month, inclusive of all benefits. However, the actual designation and salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and expertise.
