IIT Kharagpur, an Institute of Eminence, is seeking to appoint an Adani Chair Professor for a period of two years to promote education and research in Safety Engineering. The appointed individual will collaborate with stakeholders to enhance safety practices in various fields including Engineering, Management Sciences, and Data Analytics.
The position offers a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 2,00,000 per month, or a top-up of Rs. 25,000 for existing professors of the Institute. Accommodation, medical facilities, and office space will be provided. The appointee is expected to lead research, teaching, and supervision activities, with any intellectual property resulting from their work becoming the property of the Institute. Qualifications Details for IIT Kharagpur Recruitment 2024
- As per regular Professor of the Institute as under in relevant discipline:
- Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout with a minimum of 10 (ten) years teaching / research / industrial experience of which at least 4 (four) years should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs, IISc Bangalore, IIMS, NITIE Mumbai and IISERS or at an equivalent level in any such other Indian or foreign Institution(s) of comparable standards OR
- An eminent academician/scientist/engineer/technologist/industry expert in the relevant areas, whom the Institute feels is well-suited to meet the goals of the post.
Pay Scale for IIT Kharagpur Recruitment 2024
Consolidated remuneration of Rs. 2,00,000 (Rupees Two Lakh) per month. However, in case of retired personnel, the remuneration shall be fixed as per Government of India norms considering the pension amount, if any. OR
A top up of Rs. 25,000 (Rupees Twenty-Five Thousand) per month shall be given for existing Professor of the Institute in addition to the salary drawn from the Institute.
Selection Process for IIT Kharagpur Recruitment 2024
- The Institute reserves the right to call for interview only those candidates shortlisted on the basis of their qualification, experience, research and publication records and departmental requirements, interaction in the centre, etc.
- Mere eligibility will not vest any right on any candidate for being called for interview. The decision of the Institute in all matters will be final. No correspondence will be entertained from the candidates in connection with the process of selection / interview.
