Qualifications Details for IIT Kharagpur Recruitment 2024
- As per regular Professor of the Institute as under in relevant discipline:
- Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout with a minimum of 10 (ten) years teaching / research / industrial experience of which at least 4 (four) years should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITS, IISc Bangalore, IIMS, NITIE Mumbai and IISERS or at an equivalent level in any such other Indian or foreign Institution(s) of comparable standards. OR
- An eminent academician/scientist/engineer/technologist/industry expert in the relevant areas, whom the Institute feels is well-suited to meet the goals of the post.

Pay Scale for IIT Kharagpur Recruitment 2024
- Consolidated remuneration of Rs. 3,30,300 (Rupees Three Lakh Thirty Thousand Three Hundred) per month. However, in case of retired personnel, the remuneration shall be fixed as per Government of India norms considering the pension amount, if any. OR
- A top up of Rs. 25,000 (Rupees Twenty-Five Thousand) per month shall be given for existing Professor of the Institute in addition to the salary drawn from the Institute.
Selection Process for IIT Kharagpur Recruitment 2024
- The applications are considered by the respective Academic Units.
- Mere eligibility will not vest any right on any candidate for being called for interview. The decision of the Institute in all matters will be final. No correspondence will be entertained from the candidates in connection with the process of selection / interview.
- Based upon the short-listing criteria, professional experience, publications in high impact factor journals, sponsored research activities, area of research, the applications are short-listed by the Academic Units.
- The short-listed candidates are then called for seminar presentation and interaction in the respective Academic Units. Based on the seminar presentation and interaction candidates are short-listed for final interview. For candidates shortlisted for final interview, reference letters will be obtained from the referees listed in the candidate’s application.
- Candidates selected in the final interview, an offer is sent from the Institute.
