The Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science Department at IIT Indore invites applications for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position under the SERB-CRG Project titled "High Temperature Fretting Fatigue Behavior of Ferritic-Martensitic Steel" (Project No. CRG/2023/007724). The position offers a three-year fellowship, extendable based on performance, with the possibility of transitioning into a Ph.D. program at IIT Indore.
The JRF will investigate the fatigue, fretting fatigue, and fracture behavior of advanced materials applicable to nuclear and defense sectors, conducting experiments at both room and high temperatures and utilizing numerical analysis. The role presents learning opportunities in mechanical testing, fatigue, fretting fatigue, fracture mechanics, materials characterization, and numerical analysis.
Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in relevant fields like mechanical, metallurgy, materials, production, manufacturing, or industrial engineering. GATE qualified candidates are preferred. The fellowship offers a monthly stipend of Rs. 37,000 for the first two years, escalating to Rs. 42,000 in the third year, along with HRA as per institute norms. Interested candidates must submit their CV along with relevant documents by May 20, 2024, with interviews tentatively scheduled for the last week of May 2024. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews, and no TA/DA will be provided.
