Applications are being sought for the role of Research Associate (Postdoctoral Fellow) for a Ministry of Steel-funded project focused on investigating Direct Reduction using Ammonia as an eco-friendly alternative ironmaking process. The ideal candidate should hold a Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, with prior experience in high-temperature experimentation, thermodynamic and kinetic analysis of metallurgical processes, and characterization of various materials like ores, minerals, biomass, and slag.
Additionally, one of the degrees (B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech) should be in Metallurgy, Materials engineering, extractive metallurgy, or process metallurgy. Desirable qualifications include hands-on training in the design, development, and operation of metallurgical reactors/furnaces, as well as proficiency in various analytical techniques such as XRD, SEM-EDS, TG-DTA/DSC, FTIR, XRF, and OES, along with software expertise in FactSage/ThermoCalc.
The fellowship offers a monthly stipend of Rs. 58,000 plus a 24% House rent allowance, with accommodation within the IITH campus subject to availability. The position is initially for one year with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability.

Qualifications Details for IIT Hyderabad Recruitment 2024
