The project titled "Synchronized Femtosecond Fiber Lasers around 1560 nm with Controllable Repetition Rate for THz Generation and Detection (JATC) (RP04665G)" is funded by the D.R.D.O. Ministry of Defence and is led by Prof. Amartya Sengupta from the Department of Physics at IIT Delhi.
The project duration extends up to May 5, 2027. It seeks to appoint a Principal Project Scientist with a consolidated pay-slab ranging from Rs. 75,600 to Rs. 98,650 per month plus HRA at 27%. The essential qualifications include a Ph.D. or M.Sc./M.Tech. with specified experience in Physics/Optics/EE, along with demonstrated expertise in THz spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, Ultrafast optics, and pump-probe experiments.
Candidates must also possess hands-on experience with optical fibers, optomechanics, optical parameter extraction analysis, and proficiency in English communication. Desirable qualifications include familiarity with optical and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of LABVIEW, MATLAB, and PYTHON.

Qualifications Details for IIT Delhi Recruitment 2024
- Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in Physics/Optics/EE with a minimum of 3 years research/industrial experience after PhD with at least 10 research papers in Science Citation (SCI) Journals having IF > 2.5, of which at least 5 should be as First Author or
- M.Sc./M.Tech. 1st Class or equivalent with 9 years experience in the above areas, with at least 6 research papers in Science Citation (SCI) Journals having IF > 2.5, of which at least 3 should be as First Author.
- Hands-on work in THz spectroscopy and/or Raman spectroscopy and Ultrafast optics and pump-probe experiments;
- Experience of working with and handling optical fibers and related optomechanics;
- Expertise in optical parameter extraction analysis; and
- excellent English communication skills.
- Experience of working with optical & electronic equipment, Knowledge of LABVIEW, MATLAB and PYTHON
Pay Scale for IIT Delhi Recruitment 2024
- The salary for the Principal Project Scientist position starts at Rs. 75,600 per month and progresses through various stages up to Rs. 98,650 per month.
- Additionally, the salary includes a House Rent Allowance (HRA) at a rate of 27% on top of the base salary.
