The Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai is inviting applications from Indian nationals for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a SERB-funded research project titled "A Hybrid Ultra-Thin Vapor Chamber Containing Wettability Patterned Condenser Surface for Thermal Management in Mobile Devices."
The JRF position requires a BE/BTech degree in Mechanical/Energy Science Engg./Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 60% aggregate score (55% for SC/ST) and qualification through GATE or CSIR-UGC NET. Desirable skills include experience in fluid flow and heat transfer experiments, numerical simulation, and scientific equipment usage.
The salary for the first two years is Rs. 37,000/- per month + HRA, and Rs. 42,000/- per month + HRA in the third year. Interested candidates should apply by May 05, 2024, and the online interview is scheduled for May 09, 2024. Selected candidates may register for the Ph.D. program at IIT Bhilai.

Qualification for IIT Bhilai Recruitment 2024
- BE/BTech (or equivalent Degree) in Mechanical/Energy Science Engg./Chemical Engineering from a recognized institute/university or statutory body OR equivalent degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate score (6.5 grade points on a scale of 10); For SC/ST category, the candidate must have secured a minimum of 55% aggregate score (6.0 grade points on a scale of 10).
- Should have qualified through GATE or CSIR-UGC NET
- Preference will be given to the candidates having experience relevant to the project. Candidates with one or more of the followings skills are strongly encouraged to apply: Experience in fluid flow and heat transfer experiments
- Numerical simulation experience in ANSYS-FLUENT or COMSOL or Coding skills in MATLAB/C++
- Experience in using scientific equipment such as High-speed cameras, Infra-red Camera, Spin Coating on glass-like surfaces, microfabrication techniques (Lithography, micro-machining, etc).
Pay Scale for IIT Bhilai Recruitment 2024
For the first two years: Rs. 37,000/- per month + HRA In the third year: Rs. 42,000/- per month + HRA The fellowship will be governed as per the SERB rule and the availability of the fund.
