IIT Bhilai has announced a recruitment notification for 2024, seeking applications for positions of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and Senior Research Fellow (SRF). The positions are open to graduates with first class degrees (minimum 60%) in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Data Science Engineering, among other allied areas. Applicants must also be qualified in a national-level eligibility test/exam such as GATE or CSIR-UGC NET.
For the JRF position, candidates up to 28 years old can apply, with age relaxations applicable to SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government norms. The SRF position is available to candidates up to 32 years old, requiring an M.Tech degree or at least two years of relevant research/industry experience.
The salary for the JRF is set at Rs. 37,000 plus HRA, while the SRF will receive Rs. 42,000 plus HRA. These positions are temporary and linked to project-specific funding, with appointments governed by the terms of the institute and the funding agency.

Junior Research Fellow
- Graduate with first class (minimum 60%) in

Senior Research Fellow
- Graduate with first class (minimum 60%) in
- Electrical Engineering (EE)
- Electronics Engineering (EEE/ETC/ECE/EIE)
- Instrumentation Engineering (IN)
- Data Science Engineering (DS/DSAI/AIML/CSE) and other allied areas
- M. Tech. in EE / ECE / EEE / ETC / EIE / IN / DS/DSAI with minimum 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 or minimum 2 years of research / industry experience in relevant fields.
- Qualified in any of the following National eligibility test/exam: a). GATE b). CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship)

Salary Details For IIT Bhilai Recruitment 2024
- Junior Research Fellow : Rs. 37000 + HRA (for JRF)
- Senior Research Fellow : Rs. 42000 + HRA (for SRF).
Terms & Conditions For IIT Bhilai Recruitment 2024
- No TA/DA will be provided to the candidate for the interview.
- The PI shall not be responsible for postal/courier delay if any, or any other reason for non- receipt of the document at the specified time and will result in disqualification/rejection of the application.
- The decision of the selection committee will be final.
- If the number of shortlisted candidates called for the interview is large, the selection committee may decide to restrict the number of candidates for the interview to a reasonable limit after considering qualifications and experience over and above the minimum prescribed in the advertisement.
- The appointment of the candidate will be governed by the terms and conditions of the Institute/funding agency particularly applicable to the said project as and when required.
- The selected candidate will have to join duty immediately on receipt of the offer.
- The fellowship may be terminated with a 30-day notice before completion of the tenure if performance till date is not deemed satisfactory.
