Applications are invited from suitable candidates for a junior research fellow position in the Department of Biological Sciences, Indian Institute for Science Education and Research Kolkata, in the project, “Synthetic self-regulated microbial consortia for the production of cellulase cocktail towards the synthesis of lignocellulose-based products,” a project in the lab of Supratim Datta and funded by the SERB
Brief description: The project involves using a combination of molecular biology, enzyme engineering, biochemical and biophysical characterization, structural and computational biology, high-throughput screening, and genomic and proteomic discovery to identify enzyme targets.

Qualification for IISER Kolkata Recruitment 2024
Essential qualifications: B.Tech./B.E./MSc in Biotechnology/Biochemistry etc., and qualification in a national level exam and will be as per terms and conditions laid down by SERB. Desirable qualification: Experience in any of the following areas: molecular biology, protein biochemistry, protein engineering, synthetic biology
Duration for IISER Kolkata Recruitment 2024
Initial appointment will be made for 6 months and upon satisfactory performance extendable on a yearly basis for the duration of the project.
