Applications are being invited from Indian nationals for the positions of Project Assistant or Project Associate in the laboratory of Prof. R. Mahalakshmi, a Professor at the Department of Biological Sciences, IISER Bhopal. There are two vacancies available for these positions.
The responsibilities include tasks such as generating mutagenesis libraries, membrane protein preparation, yeast complementation, and drop dilution assays. The minimum qualifications for Project Assistant require a first-class B.Sc. in Biochemistry, while for Project Associate, a first-class M.Sc. in Biophysics is required along with a valid GATE/JRF qualification.
Both positions mandate at least 6 months of experience in membrane protein preparation or yeast complementation and drop dilution assays. The salary offered is Rs. 20,000/- per month for Project Assistant and Rs. 31,000/- per month for Project Associate, with HRA applicable as per prevailing norms.

Qualifications Details for IISER Bhopal Recruitment 2024
- Project Assistant : First class B. Sc. in BIOCHEMISTRY from a recognized national university. Enclose all mark sheets as proof
- Project Associate : First class M. Sc. in BIOPHYSICS from a recognized national university. Must have valid GATE/JRF qualification. Enclose all mark sheets and qualification documents as proof.
- Minimum requirement for both posts : Must have at least 6-mo experience in membrane protein preparation or yeast complementation and drop dilution assays. Provide the name of project guide/ current employer who can attest to your research experience.
Pay Scale for IISER Bhopal Recruitment 2024
- Rs. 20,000/- p. m. (Proj. Asstt.) or Rs. 31,000/- p. m. (Proj. Assoc.). Prevailing norms of funding agency and IISER Bhopal will be followed. HRA as applicable.
- Tenure: 1-2 years; extendable to 3 years with salary appraisal each year, based on performance
