The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Berhampur is advertising faculty positions for Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor-Grade I in various departments. They seek candidates with strong academic backgrounds and relevant experience.

The positions are open to Indian Nationals and eligible Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs). Qualification for IISER Berhampur Recruitment 2024

Professor:

• PhD with a first class in the preceding degree, with a very good academic record throughout.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant post-PhD research and teaching experience from India (or) abroad, of which at least 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor.

Associate Professor:

• PhD with a first class at the preceding degree and a very good academic record throughout.
• Minimum 6 years of teaching/research experience, of which at least 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor/ Senior Scientific Officer/ Senior Design Engineer.

Assistant Professor Grade I:

• PhD with a first class or equivalent at the preceding degree and a very good academic record throughout.
• Minimum 3 years of industrial/research/teaching experience, excluding the experience gained while pursuing PhD.

Salary for IISER Berhampur Recruitment 2024

Probation and superannuation:

• Faculty positions at the level of Professor and Assistant Professor at IISER Berhampur have a prescribed period of probation of one year, which may be extendable.

Pay and Allowances:

• All the above posts are as per the prevailing Central Pay Commission scales and carry allowances like House Rent, Dearness, Transport and Children’s Education allowance, and other benefits like Medical, LTC, Telephone/Internet as admissible to the similarly placed Central Government employees of the respective pay level posted in Berhampur as per prevailing norms as applicable.

Pension:

• All posts will be covered under New Pension Scheme (NPS) of Govt. of India as per the extant norms of Government of India/ Institute.

Special incentives for New Faculty Members:

• Cumulative Professional Development Allowance (CPDA) as per the prevailing GoI norms. For applicants joining in between the year, it shall be on pro rata basis.
• Housing accommodation in campus shall be as per Institute rules, subject to availability. In case of non-availability of accommodation, they will be paid HRA at the prescribed rate as applicable to the city of Berhampur
• Reimbursement of travel and relocation expenses shall be admissible as per the Institute norms on successful completion of the probation period and subject to production of valid bills and receipts.
• A seed grant shall be provided for setting up the laboratory including essential equipment and consumables as applicable as per the Institute norms. e. Faculty are expected to seek additional grants from various government and non-government sponsoring agencies in addition to the funds provided by the Institute.
• All the service conditions of the appointed candidates will be regulated by the applicable Statute/Act/Govt. of India instructions and decisions of the BoG/Competent Authority.

Age Limit for IISER Berhampur Recruitment 2024

• The age of superannuation for all faculty positions is 65 years, regardless of the academic rank or position held within the institution. This means that faculty members, including professors, associate professors, and assistant professors, will retire from their positions upon reaching the age of 65.
