IISER Berhampur is inviting applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow for the year 2024. There is one vacancy available, and the last date to apply is April 22, 2024. Candidates must possess a postgraduate degree in Basic Science with a good academic record and a valid scorecard in any of the following national-level examinations: NET/GATE/UGC-JRF/CSIR-JRF/DBT/ICMR/NET-LS/INSPIRE-PhD/JGEEBILS/JEST or any other as per nationally recognized guidelines.
The position is initially for one year and can be extended for another two years based on performance and fund availability. The salary offered is Rs. 37,000.00 per month plus HRA as per IISER Berhampur norms and SERB guidelines.
Candidates should have proficiency in programming languages and computational techniques, particularly in dealing with protein structures. Experience in biomolecular simulations and exposure to protein expression, purification, and biological studies is preferable.

IISER Berhampur Recruitment 2024 Qualification
- Post Graduate degree in Basic Science (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, etc.) per MoE guidelines (F. No.12- with a good academic record and a valid score card in any of the 2/2019-U1 dated January 31, following national-level examinations.
- National Eligibility Test 2019), F. No. 51-07/2019-TS.VII (NET)/GATE/UGC-JRF/CSIR-JRF/DBT (URF A category)/ICMR (URF (Vol. -Il) dated October 04, 2019 category I)/NET-LS/INSPIRE-PhD/JGEEBILS/JEST or any other or as per the guidelines of the nationally recognized scores. Graduated candidates with proficiency in funding agency programming are preferable.
- Period of engagement 01 year. The position is extendable for another two years based on the progress and performance and availability of fund.

- Rs. 37,000.00 + HRA as per lISER BPR norms, and SERB guidelines Fellowship/Remuneration per month (E) Job requirement The candidate has to deal with protein structures using various computational techniques. So, it is desirable that the candidate has the basic Biology and programming knowledge (Al, python, ML/DL, etc.), including experience in biomolecular simulations. A candidate having an exposure to protein expression, purification, and biological studies is also preferable (but not mandatory).
