Professor :

• PhD with a first class in the preceding degree, with very good academic record throughout
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant postPhD research and teaching experience from India(or) abroad, of which, at least 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor.

Associate Professor :

• PhD with a first class at the preceding degree and a very good academic record throughout.
• Minimum 6 years of teaching/research experience of which at least 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor/ Senior Scientific Officer/ Senior Design Engineer.

Assistant Professor :

• PhD with a first class or equivalent at the preceding degree and a very good academic record throughout.
• Minimum 3 years of industrial/ research /teaching experience, excluding however, the experience gained while pursuing PhD.

All the above posts are as per the prevailing Central Pay Commission scales and

carry allowances like House Rent, Dearness, Transport and Children’s Education allowance, and other benefits like Medical, LTC, Telephone/Internet as admissible to the similarly placed Central Government employees of the respective pay level posted in Berhampur as per prevailing norms as applicable.

Age Limit for IISER Berhampur Recruitment 2024

• Faculty positions at the level of Professor and Assistant Professor at IISER Berhampur have a prescribed period of probation of one year, which may be extendable.
• The age of superannuation for all faculty positions is 65 years

General Conditions for IISER Berhampur Recruitment 2024

• It shall be the sole responsibility of the candidates to fully satisfy that he/she possesses the essential qualifications and experience etc. as laid down in this advertisement for the post(s) before applying.
• The candidate will be solely and entirely responsible for the authenticity of information and documents submitted by him/her.
• At any stage during the process of selection or even after appointment, if it is found that the applicant was not eligible as per the qualifications and experience etc. prescribed for the post(s) as per the advertisement, the candidature/appointment of the concerned individual will be cancelled/terminated immediately.
• In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection, which is detected at any stage even after the issue of appointment order, the Institute reserves the right to modify/withdraw/cancel any communication (including the offer of appointment) made to the candidate.
• The qualifications as prescribed should have been obtained from recognized Universities / Institutions in India(or) abroad as applicable in terms of the instructions from the Govt. of India from time to time.
• Number of posts including reserved posts indicated may increase or decrease, if need be, as per the Institute’s requirement.
• The Institute reserves the right to not fill up some of the advertised posts and reject any or all of the applications without assigning any reason, thereof.
• The pay shown is the minimum in the pay scale of the relevant post.
• Higher starting pay may be considered for the deserving candidates on the specific recommendations of the Selection Committee with the approval of the Competent Authority of IISER Berhampur.
• Candidates working in Government Departments, Public Sector Undertakings, Autonomous Bodies, Government Funded Research organizations etc. should apply through proper channel and with a clear certificate that the applicant (if selected) will be relieved within one month of receipt of appointment order along with Vigilance Clearance Certificate.
• However, applications may be submitted before the last date as an advance copy.
• The NOC must be submitted at the time of appearing for the interview, failing which the candidate will not be allowed to appear for the interview.
• All the original documents regarding claim of experience, academic & professional qualifications, awards & recognitions must be submitted at the time of appearing for the interview/presentation and clear legible scanned soft copy must be enclosed/uploaded at the time of filling up the application.
• Applications with in-illegible uploads/scans will be summarily rejected.
• Hence, the candidates shall furnish full details of all qualifications and experience possessed in the relevant fields, over and above the minimum prescribed ones.
• The documentary evidence of qualification and experience will be verified during the selection process and after appointment and any discrepancy found in documents will lead to cancellation of the candidature/appointment.
• In all matters relating to the eligibility of the candidates, screening / seminar presentation /interviews etc, the decision of the Institute will be final and binding on all the applicants.
• The appointment of the selected candidates will be subject to being found medically fit as per the rules.
• The Institute shall verify the character and antecedents, and documents submitted by candidates at any time, or during the tenure of the appointment.
• In case, it is detected that the documents submitted by the candidates are fake or the applicant has doubtful / unacceptable antecedents / background and had suppressed the said information, then the individual’s services shall be liable to be terminated forthwith and in addition, legal action may be initiated against such applicants / employees as per law.
• The appointment orders issued by the Institute to the finally selected candidates shall be provisional until the clearance of character and antecedents are received from the appropriate authority by the Institute.
• The Institute reserves the right to revise or modify at any time any conditions of the advertisement by issuing a suitable amendment or corrigendum, as it may deem fit.
• Such corrigendum / addendum pertaining to this advertisement, shall be published only on the Institute’s website.
