The Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences is seeking eligible candidates for various positions in the Pan India Study titled "Diet and Biomarker Survey in India (DABS-I)", funded by ICMR. The positions include Junior Medical Officer, Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in Food and Nutrition, and SRF in Anthropology/Sociology/Social Work.
Walk-in-interviews are scheduled for 4th and 6th May 2024 at the Department of Community Medicine, with applications accepted between 9:00 am to 10:00 am. Candidates must submit duly filled application forms, along with photocopies and original certificates for verification.

Qualifications Details for ICMR-NIN Recruitment 2024
Junior Medical Officer:
- MBBS/AYUSH/BDS Degree from a recognized university and registration in the respective medical/AYUSH/ dental council and willing to work in the field and able to understand local language.
- Masters in Public Health OR minimum of one year of experience in field or community studies
Senior Research Fellow:
- Master's(M.Sc./MPH) Food & Nutrition, Home Science and willing to work in the field and able to understand local language.
- One year experience in conducting field or community studies (24 hour dietary recall data collection)
Senior Technical Assistant:
Graduate in Anthropology / Social Science/Sociology/ Science (Biochemistry/Micro- biology) / Social Work from a recognized university with minimum two years' of experience or Post Graduate degree in above specified subjects will be considered as two years of experience and willing to work in the field, experience in drawing blood sample, processing blood sample in field studies.
Project Asssitant:
Graduate in MLT from a recognized university OR DMLT with One year relevant experience (blood sample collection) OR B.Sc (Nursing) OR Two years nursing with one year of relevant experience (blood sample collection) AND willing to work in the field and able tol understand local language.
Field Worker:
- 12th pass in Science subject and willing to work in the field & able to understand the local language.
- Minimum one year experience in data collection from field or community.
Age Limit for ICMR-NIN Recruitment 2024
- Applicants should note that the age limit for the positions should not exceed 30 years for Junior Medical Officer and 35 years for Senior Research Fellows, with certain relaxations applicable as per government guidelines. Age, qualifications, and other criteria will be considered as of the last date of application submission.
- There is a provision for age relaxation for specific categories such as SC/ST, OBC, retrenched government employees, departmental candidates, and ex-servicemen, as per government regulations. For OBC candidates, the upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years, provided they produce a valid OBC-Non Creamy Layer certificate during document verification, ensuring compliance with prescribed stipulations. Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in the rejection of their candidature or OBC reservation.

Walk-in details for ICMR-NIN Recruitment 2024
- Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the following position for the Pan India Study entitled "Diet and Biomarker Survey in India (DABS-I)" funded by ICMR at this Institute on temporary contract basis in SIKKIM. These posts require an extensive travel in the State of SIKKIM to conduct the study.
- The Walk-in-interview will be conducted on 04/05/2024 & 06/05/2024 at Department of Community Medicine, Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences, 5th Mile Tadong, Gangtok, Sikkim - 737102. Applications will be received from the individuals by hand on thedate of Walk-in-interview between 9:00 am to 10:00 am.
- The Candidates may download the application form from www.nin.res.in and submit the same duly filledin along with one set of photocopies of certificates and one latest photograph and all the Original Certificates for verification failing which their candidature cannot be considered for Interview.
