The Indian Council of Forestry Research & Education (ICFRE) is recruiting for a temporary Research Associate-I position with a walk-in interview scheduled for 7th October 2024 in Dehradun. The role offers a salary of ₹58,000 and is project-based, focusing on Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) analysis of forest ecosystem services like climate regulation. Eligible candidates must hold a PhD or have at least three years of research experience post-master's in relevant fields such as Environmental Sciences, Forestry, Agricultural Economics, or Geography. Alternatively, an M.Tech in RS & GIS with three years of experience also qualifies. The age limit is 35 years, with up to 5 years of relaxation for certain categories.

The position is temporary and does not guarantee future employment within ICFRE, with tenure dependent on project needs and funding. Qualification for ICFRE Recruitment 2024
- PhD or Three Years Research Experience after Master's in any of the subject (Environmental Sciences/ Forestry/ Agricultural Economics/ Geography); or, M. Tech. in RS & GIS with three years’ experience
- Exposure to RS&GIS. Evidence of scientific research as paper/ dissertation
Responsibility for ICFRE Recruitment 2024
All project related work/activities of scientific/technical/official nature with major emphasis on RS & GIS based analysis of various forest eco-system services such as climate regulation, and report compilation etc.
Age Limit for ICFRE Recruitment 2024
Age limit for RA is 35 years, for JRF/JPF is 28 years and for FA is 25 Years on the date of interview for all positions (relaxation in age limit of the candidates/applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC/ physically handicapped and Women upto 5 years).
Terms and Conditions for ICFRE Recruitment 2024
- Only Indian Nationals are eligible.
- The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the Project.
- The position can also be terminated at any time by the National project Coordinator/Principal Coordinator/Principal Investigator/Supervisor of the Project without assigning any reason depending on the performance of the candidate.
- Recruitment for the above temporary position is governed by the rules and regulation of the Indian Council of Forestry Research & Education (ICFRE) and does not guarantee subsequent employment in any Institute under the Council.
- The interested candidate may appear before the selection committee with their original certificates, mark sheets with a self-attested photocopy of each and a recent passport size photograph along with the bio-data.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the Walk-in-Interview.
- Candidates without Provisional Certificate/ Degree Certificate/original mark sheet awarded by the University will not be permitted to attend the Interview.
- Your services after selection would be offered depending upon the project work and relevant situations.
- Order of engagement of the selected candidate will be issued subject to availability of fund and approval of the Competent Authority. Tenure mentioned in the advertisement is tentative and liable to be curtailed/extended as per the decision of the Competent Authority.

Applications are invited for recruitment of following purely project based temporary positions for the project at Division of Forestry Statistics, ICFRE HQ, ICFRE, FRI Campus, Dehradun. Candidates having appropriate qualifications in relevant subject/specialization with consistently good academic records and experience may appear in a Walk-In-Interview on 7th October, 2024 at 11:00 A.M.
