The ICAR-National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources (NBPGR) in New Delhi is seeking applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under a DBT funded project titled "Mainstreaming Corn-Based Bio-Polymers as Alternative to Single-Use Plastic." Interested candidates must send their applications via email by April 25, 2024.

The interview will be held in the first week of May at the Division of Germplasm Evaluation, ICAR-NBPGR Old Building, Pusa Campus, New Delhi. The selected candidate will receive a monthly emolument of Rs. 37,000 plus 24% HRA. Essential qualifications include a postgraduate degree in Basic/Allied Science or a graduate/postgraduate degree in a professional course. Desirable qualifications include experience in plant biochemistry or basic chemistry biopolymer samples handling.

The upper age limit is 28 years for General & EWS category, with age relaxation for reserved categories. The position is temporary and co-terminus with the project, and selected candidates have no right to claim for regularization. No TA/DA will be provided for the interview, and candidates must bring original certificates for verification.

Qualification for NBPGR Recruitment 2024

• Post Graduate Degree in Basic/Allied Science (Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Chemistry/MaterialScience/Environmental Science/Any discipline of Life Sciences) OR Graduate/ Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course (Chemical Engineering/Biotechnology/Material Sciences etc.)
• Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Test-CSIR UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE.
• The Selection process through National level examination conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER etc
• Desirable Qualification: Experience in plant biochemistry or basic chemistry biopolymer samples handling

Terms and Conditions for NBPGR Recruitment 2024

• Candidates are requested to ensure their eligibility like age, qualification etc. before appearing for the interview
• The Director shall also reserve the right to terminate the contract of job as mentioned above, even before the completion of the project for which no appeal thereof shall be made
• Candidates are required to bring the relevant certificates/ mark sheets etc in original along with an application with full bio-data enclosing photocopies of certificates and mark sheets from matriculation onwards duly attested affixing a passport size photograph on the top.
• The selected candidate will be required to produce medical certificate at the time of joining. In case of any disputes, it will be resolved in the jurisdiction of New Delhi court only.

Selection Procedure for NBPGR Recruitment 2024

• Candidates having essential qualifications will only be considered for the interview.
• No TA/DA and official accommodation will be provided for appearing in the interview.
• The decision of the Director of the institute will be final and binding in all aspects.
• Interview will be held in the 1 st week of May.
• After screening the applications, the only shortlisted candidates will be intimidated by email or phone for an interview.
• Original documents of the candidates appearing for interview in-person will be verified on the interview date.
