"The National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources (NBPGR) has announced vacancies for the positions of Junior Research Fellow and Scientific/Administrative Assistant. With a total of 2 vacancies, the positions offer competitive salaries along with HRA benefits.
For the Junior Research Fellow role, candidates must possess a Post Graduate Degree in Basic/Allied Sciences or a Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in Professional Courses, along with research experience in analytical techniques. Meanwhile, the Scientific/Administrative Assistant position requires a Graduation in any discipline with experience in Biochemistry-related analysis and data handling. Eligible candidates must ensure their qualifications and age eligibility before applying.
The recruitment process is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project, and selected candidates have no right to claim for regularization or absorption within ICAR/NBPGR. Interested applicants must submit their applications by April 25, 2024, and appear for the interview with original certificates and mark sheets. No TA/DA will be provided for the interview. The decision of the Director of the institute will be final, and disputes will be resolved in the jurisdiction of New Delhi court."

NBPGR Recruitment 2024 Qualifications
Junior Research Fellow
- Post Graduate Degree in Basic/Allied Sciences (Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Chemistry/ Material Science/ Environment Science/ Any discipline of Life Sciences) OR Graduate/ Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course (Chemical Engineering/ Biotechnology/ Material Sciences etc.)
- Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility TestCSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE.
- The Selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER etc.
- Candidates with research experience in analytical techniques in Biochemistry/Material Science.
Scientific/Administrative Assistant
- Graduation in any discipline
- Experience in Biochemistry related analysis, handling instrument, data entry etc.

NBPGR Recruitment 2024 Age
- 28years as on the last date of application for General & EWS category. Age relaxation of up to 5 years (33 years) for SC/ ST/ Differently Abled/ Women candidates and upto 3 years (31 years) for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates.
- 50 years as on the last date of application for General & EWS category. Age relaxation of up to 5 years (55 years) for SC/ ST/ Differently Abled/ Women candidates and upto 3 years (53 years) for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates.
Terms and Conditions For NBPGR Recruitment 2024
- Candidates are requested to ensure their eligibility like age, qualification etc. before appearing for the interview
- Candidates having essential qualification will only be considered for interview.
- No TA/DA and official accommodation will be provided for appearing in the interview.
- The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project, selected candidate has no right to claim for regularization or absorption whatsoever in ICAR/NBPGR
- The decision of Director of the institute will be final and binding in all aspects.
- The Director shall also reserve the right to terminate the contract of job as mentioned above, even before the completion of the project for which no appeal thereof shall be made
- Candidates are required to bring the relevant certificates/ mark sheets etc in original along with an application with full bio-data enclosing photocopies of certificates and mark sheets from matriculation onwards duly attested affixing a passport size photograph on the top.
- The selected candidate will be required to produce medical certificate at the time of joining.
- In case of any disputes, it will be resolved in the jurisdiction of New Delhi court only.

- Applications are invited to attend the offline interview for the post of Junior Research Fellow (01) and Scientific Administrative Assistant (01) under DST funded project “Mining pearlmillet germplasm collection towards developing traits for low rancidity, high shelf life, and better nutrient profile” at NBPGR, New Delhi as mentioned below.
- The eligible candidates (appearing in-person) are requested to send their application in the enclosed proforma along with scanned copy of the original documents in a single pdf file through email to [email protected] latest by 25th April’2024. Interview will be held in the 1st week of May.
- After screening the applications, the only shortlisted candidates will be intimated by e-mail or phone for interview. Original documents of the candidates appearing for interview in-person will be verified on the interview date.
